I started the competition with an opener of 385. The shirt was too cranked down and it took the bar at the bottom.

My second attempt was 405. You can see in the video that my feet lack purchase. The wood was just too damn slick. I rushed my set-up a little and my butt ended up coming off the bench. One of the judges said I "jerked" my arm on the accent. So that lift was not passed.

At this point I was really fired up. I was thinking, "I don't want to bomb out of my first meet". I said a prayer, dug deep, got extremely fired up and put it all on the line. I was prepared for 418.5, so I just went for it, I knew I could do it. I really tried to slow down my set-up. Get everything perfect, and make sure my butt did not come up.

Opened my deadlift with 435. It just flew up. I was pretty tired at this point in the day and was running on fumes. But I was still amped. Enjoy the face slaps.

Next attempt was 485. It came off the ground and was not really a grinder at all. Not too slow, just right.

My third attempt was 501. I got it off the floor and just couldn't get it moving. I know its possible in the very near future. My wife did not get video of that attempt.
If you look on my youtube page you will see a max deadlift of 405, 4 months ago! I have really been making progress at an extremely fast pace. It is really exciting. Thanks for all of the help and encouragement. Also, could someone embed these
