View Full Version : Deadlift: 535PR and 550 miss :( at 190lbs

Had a great session with Painzer and Kiaran from the forums on saturday in Denver. We ALL busted out PRs in the deadlift and Painzer actually made a squat PR as well.

Videos of my two max deadlift attempts. Hit the 535 pretty solidly, just barely missed the 550. I'll have that pretty soon, I'm confident about that.

Weight is currently ~190lbs, and im trying to do a slow cut to ~180lbs.

535 - 20lb PR in about 10 weeks

550 miss :( Combination of failed grip and struggling with the lockout

You're really strong all way through until your lockout. Do some more banded work! Really nice pulling. No doubt about triple body weight in the near future.

looks like you have a regrip que for your lift, might be why you failed at 550, or it could be that it's a heavy damn pull. Good work!

Wish I had a set of bands! I may look into a couple pairs soon but money is tight until January. Until then I may do heavy rack pulls at knee level for triples

If you can get that 550 off the floor like that, you can finish the lift no problem. You will be getting that easy soon.
