View Full Version : Types of foam logs
At my gym they have some foam logs that are probably only 1'' foam on the exterior, then the interior is a hollowed-out plastic cylindrical tube.
Is this as effective as a 100% foam log? I went to Sports Authority to purchase one but the small ones they had were $24 (I think it was just over a foot long), seemed a little pricey to me.
So, what do you guys think? Are the ones at my gym good enough?

The rollers at your gym are probably better since the hard pipe in the interior won't allow the thing to squish too much. They will certainly last longer.

This one hold up no problem http://www.flexcart.com/members/elitefts/default.asp?m=PD&cid=114&pid=1468
Thanks for the replies, I didn't realize the different styles were geared towards to how well they held up.
I'm not sure really what I should be feeling, when I use the ones at my gym I just feel like I'm rolling on something, and don't feel any type of deep penetration relief... not sure.

Then you either don't need to be rolling, or the roller you're on is too soft.

The 'Perform Better' ones are good (high density foam).
You can pick them up from Amazon.com
