11-07-09 APA DE Power Frenzy

275 Class. I weighed 275 on the nose.

Squat Wraps and belt.
650 Good lift
735 Good Lift 5 LB PR
750 Good lift 20 LB PR

Bench
55 Lbs Not a PR!
500 Miss
500 Miss

Deadlift
650 Good Lift
750 Good Lift 5 LB PR
770 Miss

Meet went great. I squatted and pulled for PR's. On the bench I opened at 55 to save my squat and tried to bench. Warm ups felt awfull and 405 hurt like a mother. I decided to take a chance any way. I went to 500 wich is what I needed minimal for 2000. I pushed it up and when my shoulder felt like it was about to tear I stopped pushing. I tried again on a 3rd with a mega wide grip and tried to do a shirted technique bench and did the same. I hurt my shoulder on my third squat pretty good. Once I did that I knew there was no chance of doing a 500 bench. But I took a chance. My shoulder feels like dog **** but atleast I know I tried. Im going to get an MRI scheduled this week to see what the deal is. None the less every thing went awesome. meet was great. My training partners had great days. Matt Wilson hit a big 1105 squat and 2550 total. he missed a 770 pull for 2600. he had 770 locked out and his hand tore. All in all im very happy right now with my results. I went for 770 on the pull and it didnt budge LOL. One of these days ill get a third deadlift. I loaded up on results prior to the squat and took opticen shakes before benching and pulling. I felt pretty good all day. I have never focused on nutrition meet day as its a pain in the ass but using the shakes helped me stay energetic and ready to lift. Thanks to Atlarge. Even though I havent been with them long. Atlarge def had a postive effect on my performance meet day.

Nice work man! I've been following your training on elite, and I'm glad you set some PRs. It sucks that your shoulder held you back, but you will get it next time. I also want to mention how big of a help your article on raw training is and how much your log helps us raw lifters. Keep up the good work man!

How come no vid of the 55 lb bench press? Your butt prob came off the bench or you bounced it, pffft!


Haha, great work Scot. I hope you get that shoulder healed up and back on track for 2,000+ raw!

Wow Scott, impressive lifting. Might I say, this raw lifting has you looking quite jacked. Take some time to figure things out and get your shoulder well. You are capable of a monster total. Great job!

Hardcore man! It takes heart to attempt a 500 bench w/ a bum shoulder injury!!!

Recovery and heal that shoulder bro!

Nice PR's Scott!! Good luck with the shoulder. Are you gonna ever get back into geared lifting or are you gonna stay raw from now on?

As for the gear question. Im having fun right now for the first time in a while. For a while i was just going through the motions. Doing a 180 liftng wise has def put some new fire under my ass again. Im going to stick with this until things change I guess?

I made sure I gave his azz a VERY long press call on the bench. I made him hold that sucker for awhile at the top before letting him rack it too. 45lb bench was good however, I can assure you. It was fast and he made it look like 225. Great meet Yard. Your 500's weren't far off. It sucked judging watching you get so close and just stall. Props for even getting under there with a bum wing. On a side note, I think I enjoy backspotting Ute more than you now.

Great numbers Scott! Takes some guts to attempt 500 with a broken shoulder. Kudos!

Ill let Ute know that. I thought I saw a little "touching" When he missed his third squat and you "grabbed him". hahahaha
