So I just bought a belt and I have a few questions.

How tight should it be?

How can I get more out of it?

It should be tight, but not so tight that you can't get a belly full of air and push your abs out against the belt. Experiment with it and what works for you.

Work it in. I got more out of my belt once I worked it in and loosened it up.

Is a belt still considered raw?

in the IPF a belt and approved knee sleeves are raw. No Idea about anywhere else. Some may consider it support so *shrug*

In powerlifting? Yes. To internet trolls? No.

I like to wear my belt very tight on squats. Just tight enough to hold my shirt down on bench presses. Not so tight on deadlifts as to keep me from getting to the bar with good air, but tight enough that it's feeling pretty tight by the time I'm down to the bar to help start the weight up. I also like the narrow front belt to deadlift. I use 3 different belts to compete in a full meet.

Another quick question. Can a belt be too tight? For instance when I first used it I could only get it to the 2nd smallest hole, know that is broken in I can get it all the way to the last hole. Today I didn't seem to have as much support compared to when I first used it.

LMAO...

Suppose the question should have been Raw or RRrRrAAwWW!!1!!

Op, if you dont mind me asking, what sort of belt did you get?

PL style, contoured BBer style? The difference in support will be night and day.

If you make it too tight you won't be able to effectively use your abs during lifts like the squat and deadlift. So yes, it can be too tight.

I just picked up one at the local sporting goods store. So I assume its crap compared to others out there. The back part is 4 inches wide and tampers of to 2.5 inches in front.
