Hi, I'm 150lb, on doing SS and on a bulk!
As for everything that goes in my mouth, I log calories, protein & carbs.

On avg, per day I get 3500kcals and 200+ protein.

These 2 are the only ones I focus on, making sure I get my daily calories and protein but have dismissed carbs really. That was until I read that someone of my weight, on a bulk should be consuiming around 600g of the stuff :o

Seems alot to me, looking back through my logs, my average per day is 300g ~ 350g
Should I start eating basically double the amount of carbs?

Thanks

Is what you're doing now working?

How many pounds are you gaining a week?

I cant really tell if it's "working" because I only started 3 week ago. This is my 4th week.
Started at 146, Weigh at the beginning of the week, this week I'm 151.6.

So that's 5.6lb in 3 week.
That's not what I'm aiming for, I was 1.5 - 2 lb increase per week. So far I'm avg on 1.8lb per week. I suppose you could say it's working, but I lost weight from week 1 to 2, but gained in 2 to this week.

Other the entire time, calculated average (per day) are:
Calories: 3500
Protein: 195g
Carbs: 287g

It's just now that I read such a higher number of carbs or needed to bulk proper.
I struggle get 3500kcals down. Nightmare!!

If you're gaining 1 - 2 pounds a week leave your diet alone for now. Don't worry about the scale as much as how you look in the mirror.

i agree if you are gaining 1 to 2lbs per week that is plenty. really any more than that you are probably gaining bodyfat. i think the slower you bulk the more lean body mass you gain, because the goal is to gainmuscle not fat.

I'm quite sure that 1.8 is between 1.5 and 2.0.

Truth.

I've no idea where my head was at the time of writing that :)
Yeah, it's exactly what I'm aiming for.

Even after so little time, and so little weight put on, I just look constantly bloated...
Which I don't kinda mind, I wanna bulk up, and not too worried about bodyfat
I just figure the numbers never lie, as long as my weight is going up, as well as my lifts, plus eating/resting well enough, I should be ok.

It's just, carbs...
Maybe I'll leave them alone for the time being...

Swap some fat for your carbs. Equal calories. Time your carbs around your workout, and eat the protein/fat meals other times of the day. You'll probably feel less bloated. You might lose a pound or two of water at first, but don't let that discourage you. Just keep watching the scale and the mirror (your two best tools).

I don't even track fat. Maybe I should.
So eat more carb rich foods on the day of workout?
