1. Is it possible to set up deadlifts against bands without a jump stretch platform?

2. When should I choke the bands and what does choking the bands do exactly?

If you have a power rack you can put the bands under the rack or you can put them under your feet,looping the bands you wont have any tension at the bottom, the short 20 inch bands work good for deadlifting.

You can use other gym equipement or else bolt hooks into the floor, I have been using the base of the squat rack to put the bands on and connect the others side to the preacher machine and weigh it down. also you can probably quad some minis to dumbells under the bar
