With the majority of us finished up for the 2009 season, what are everyones goals and hopes for next year?

I'm training for a 600 SQ, a 440 Bench and a 550 Pull. Along with getting in all of my extra workouts, mobility work and etc.

A Rage-X is on the cards too.

I will be happy to have 12 months solid training under my belt by April 2010. It would be cool to bench my body weight! My primary goal is to get those ripped abs I talk about. When that happens, I may consider entering an amateur BB comp.... who knows? I like your goals Cliff.

To keep on hitting new totals until im 40 ( April 2010 ) and then keep on hitting more

12-06-2009, 09:31 AM
I'll be getting back into geared lifting in 2010, and I'm hoping for:

700 multi-ply squat
500+ single-ply bench
650+ deadlift

12-06-2009, 09:47 AM
Squat 700,bench 500,deadlift 600.And to compete in my first meet in 10 years

12-06-2009, 10:20 AM
Get my neck/trap healed up completely, then remain injury free next year and continue to maintain my overall general health for another year.

Train hard, missing as few workouts as possible, and have as much fun as I possibly can both in and out of the gym.

Actually learn how to deadlift where I don't look like I'm passing a kidney stone on the platform.

Go 865/665/585= 2115 in my next meet in June as minimum meet numbers this next year.

Get A.'s training right, keep her knee healthy, and get her over the hump to an Elite total either RAW or in single ply.

I honestly am not sure what the goal is for me in 2010.

Obviously I'd like to get 800 in early '10 and then just keep making consistent progress as I have been.

in '09 I went from a 725 bench to a 770 bench so 50lbs on my bench last year. Time will tell if that's possible for next year.

12-06-2009, 03:47 PM
what are everyones goals and hopes for next year?

My goal is to bench 800 lbs at 220 sometime in 2010. I will be 42 yrs old in January--the clock is ticking pretty damn fast. lol.
I competed at 242 this year and hated being that heavy--weighed 248-250 most of the year. Already down to 238--10 more lbs to go for my bodyweight goal.

12-06-2009, 05:44 PM
Squat 550 raw, 650 single ply (now 500 raw)
Bench 385 raw, 450 single ply (now 330 raw)
Deadlift 600 raw, 625 single ply (now 550 raw)

12-06-2009, 05:44 PM

Any PR is a good PR.

12-06-2009, 05:54 PM
just get stronger. Long range goal is a 500# bench at #242 b/4 I am 50.

12-06-2009, 06:26 PM
Hit a full meet and get a total. After that I want to total 2000 in the 242s, in a multiply fed.

12-06-2009, 06:41 PM
To total 1500+ in the 220's and stay healthy

Ok, let me put this in writing and then we can see where I end up. I want to pull a raw 800 lbs. It isn't crazy far off, but at this point adding a little is a lot. With that said, I think I can do it.

2010 will be a year for me to make a statement!

12-06-2009, 10:27 PM
I am gonna keep it simple! Just a 300lb Bench,400lb Squat and 500lb Dead! At a 240lb bodyweight! It is a simple but tough goal! I think Bench and Dead will be doable but that will be a lot of steel on my back! Good Luck guys! Do the work!!

12-06-2009, 10:43 PM

903 meet squat
672 + meet bench
633 meet deadlift = 2208 + total

Single ply:

832 + meet squat
600 + meet bench
633 meet deadlift = 2065 + total

Raw (singlet/belt/wraps):

705 meet squat
429 + meet bench
600 + meet deadlift = 1734 + total

@ 275s and 54 years old.

P.S. Looking forward to a great 1st year for our gym 'Monster Barbell' and getting the team formed and start competing together! Can't wait!!!

My goal for 2010 is to bench 500 lbs. raw in a sanctioned meet @ 198. I'm not completely certain, but I believe I'd be the first person over 50 to hit 500 raw in that weight class.

I would love to hit a 2400@242. Squat a grand some where, and maybe get my pull to 700. Also may throw a raw meet in some where just for kicks.(that is if I don't have to hear too much s*** from people)

12-08-2009, 08:55 AM
Finally get my broke azz in a full meet early on and compete at least 3x

12-08-2009, 11:04 AM
Break the USAPL Open American Record for 220 Raw Total

12-08-2009, 11:43 AM
Well I have my generic goal of 400 lb bench, 600 lb squat and deadlift raw. Depending what I do with my body weight might determine whether I get close to these goals next year or not. Debating working my way up to 242 gradually. I also want to get more experienced with gear and start competing, not sure about what numbers I want to hit, because I really need to get using gear and see where I end up and then work on it from there. Borrowing an old single ply inzer squat suit next week, so I can use that for a little while to give me a feel for being in a suit. But my wife is telling me her parents buy them pretty much everything they put on their christmas list, and I put squat suit, deadlift suit, briefs and knee wraps on there under my wants section, would be awesome if they bought that for me, but I definitely don't expect it considering how expensive they are.

Here's what I would like to hit geared now that I think about it, multi ply stuff and maybe not next year but soon as I can.
800 squat
500+ bench
700 pull

12-09-2009, 01:22 PM
Single ply
Bench 711
Total 2000+

Multi ply
Bench 800
Total 2200+

lower BF %

12-09-2009, 06:33 PM
Goals: Bring the Worlds Strongest Man title to America, and keep it here for a long time.

As far as numbers go, I haven't decided how high they should be.

12-09-2009, 06:44 PM
1) Get and stay healthy, especially elbows.
2) Maintain weight below 198 to prevent having to cut.
3) Maintain weight below 198 but lose some fat.
4) Compete in at least 2 full RAW meets.
5) Try 5/3/1.

12-10-2009, 03:04 AM
Sq: 525
BP: 425
DL: 625

Total: 1575 @ 198

no regrets
12-10-2009, 03:50 PM
I want to total 1000 raw.

12-10-2009, 04:09 PM
*Compete in my first meet
*Squat 550
*Bench 405
*Deadlift 550

12-10-2009, 04:15 PM

Goal (Current)
165 lbs (150)
Squat 405 (320 w/ wraps)
Bench 250 (205)
Deadlift 375 (300)

If I hit all of those in competition I'd be happy. Totaling 1000 raw @ 165 would be awesome too.

12-10-2009, 04:36 PM
I should add that before I cut to 242, I want to hit 300...

12-15-2009, 05:29 PM
