been struggling getting oats down within a shake the ones that come in natural form (not ground up) I have just bought some crushed Oats from Morrisons supermarket and obviously being ground the overall texture is powdery rather than the whole form.

Does anyone use these types of oats in the shakes (uncooked) and if so are they easier to get down....more importantly looking at the nutritional info they look pound for pound about the same nutrition wise.

Never done the oats in shake thing, but for me I dig steel cut oats microwaved in water, then add some splenda and a scoop or two of some good protein.

I actually more often do rolled oats...but here is a link showing both. I usually consume the Quaker rolled oats.

you can always ground your own oats up... and if it's still that much of a pain with the powder there is nothing magical about oats that says you have to use them in the shake or eat them at all, unless you like them that is.

Def take GetFit's advice. All of the little stuff like that is not gonna make a noticable difference to your progress and worrying about it is wasted effort.

i have been doing quick oats in my post workout shake for years. never a problem! try grinding them up in a coffee grinder, this woud make it disolve in the protein powder better. if you are doing protein and oat post wokout i would like to recommend opticenby atlarge nutrition. i have been using this supplement and have not used oat since(this has complex carbs as well as protein, all uu need)

Think of it like adding flavorless glue to a shake.

Two scoops of whey along with 1/2 cup oats ground in to a shake with milk has been my breakfast for years. I always reccomend it to people I know. Training or not it's a QUICK nutritious breakfast. Quick to make and quick to consume. Actually funny because years ago, I asked a similar question on these boards and got similar responses... don't sweat it.

Quaker instant one minute oats mixed in with a chocolate ON whey shake w/milk is AMAZING!!! Try that out. You just eat the oats like cold cereal only out of the protien shake instead of just milk.
