I am starting a cycle in a week or so. I have been reading articles about muscle loss post cycle due to cortisol build up in the body. Is there any way of preventing post cycle muscle loss......Isn't Colmid supposed to aid this by bringing your natural Test levels up?
I think muscle loss post cycle is mainly due to very low testosterone levels, not cortisol. Make sure you have a good post cycle plan and don't go on a cutting cycle soon after.
I have read that in addition to clomid, arimidex can help elevate test a bit, even though it's mainly used as an aromatase inhibitor.

I Never crash or lose muscle post cycle thanks to Arimidex/HCG/Clomid

Is HCG taken just post cycle, or during and post cycle. The reason I ask is I THINK I remember reading that you can build up sort of a tolerance to it and it will lose it's effectiveness.

I mix in some HCG with my last injection and run it until all of AS has tapered out of my system, usually 3-4 weeks total. I know what your referring to with HCG, it's not that you build up a tolerence to HCG itself. You can live on 500-1000iu's a day for LH replacement.
You can run into trouble if you use to high a dose of HCG, as it doesn't take much HCG to give a strong stimulation to the leydig cells in the testicles to produce testosterone. If you over-stimulate them by using too much HCG you actually get the opposite effect where the testicles become desensitized to gonadotropins, both exogenious and endogenious.

Wow, so you could make your body stop responding from its own natural stimulation by taking too much HCG. That would indeed suck. Does it work that well to risk it?

It mimics you bodies natural LH so testicles return to normal size which allows the HPTA to recover quicker since you don't need to wait a few weeks for the body t revolumize the testies naturally.
Their is no risk as normal medical doses, it only carries that risk at high very high blood levels. Certain medical protocols call for HCG to be started with a a single dose of 5000iu's the first week but this dose is very high for a single dose of HCG so it is only done once, subsequent injections are a single shot of 3500iu's the next week and 1500iu's the week after.
A good rule of thumb would be not to exceed 1500iu's/day if injecting ED or 10,000iu's a week total. For post cycle recovery 500-1000iu's ED or EOD works perfectly.

Doesn't the stuff stay active for 5 days though? That's what I understood, so I only do one 2000IU injection every 5 days for a total of 3 injections. Stuff brings my berries back to normal size in no time...then some clomid for a few weeks and bingo, back to natty training without the crash.
I've also heard of folks taking a couple shots of HCG mid-cycle. Is there any benefit to this?

Yes HCG is active 5 days but I'm not sure if it goes throught a normal half-life process.
Optimaly one would use HCG the entire cycle at a replacement dose to keep testicles fully functioning on both the T and reproductive level, HCG is important every 8 weeks if your going to be on for long periods of time to help prevent fertility problems when you eventually do come off. If your only going to be on 8 weeks Personally I don't see any benefit to doing a few shots mid cycle because your testicles will return to normal size only to shrink again as soon as the HCG leaves the system.
