Im currently about 178lbs, 5'9". been lifting for about 2 and a half years doing mostly fitness and gpp type routines. i decided to shift gears about a month or so ago and start focusing on bulking and building. whats a good bodyweight/time goal to set for myself? thanks guys

I say just bulk until you're no longer happy with your bodyfat percentage and then cut.

I can remember being 72kg (159lb) and thinking I'd be happy if I could ever get to 87kg (192lb). I'm now 101kg (223lb)and dont think I will cut until I get to atleast 108kg (238lb).

As for a timeline, a slower, more careful bulk is the way to go in my opinion. 2-3 lbs a month would be good progress.

Depending on where you started, a bodyweight increase of 2-4 lbs/month is realistic for most intermediate lifters who are dedicated to putting on mass.

It is possible to gain more if you are simply looking for overall size and are willing to compromise a bit with regard to body composition.
