Dec 31, 2009 was the Last Chance meet in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. It was my last meet as a Junior, I am in the Open category now. Here is my 3rd squat that day of 270kg (595lbs). My bench and deadlift did not go as well... I popped my eardrum during my 2nd squat and was bleeding from my ear during the bench press... My back was hurting by the time the deadlifts came around and I just couldn't pull as much as I would have liked.

Thanks everyone! It's actually called a 'perforated eardrum'. It can happen because of high blood pressure. I bloated up about 10lbs the night before the meet so my gear would fit me better and I was so puffy and weird looking after the squats... I also burst a bunch of blood vessels in my eyes.

WOW! that gives new meaning to "Eye popping heavy!". Sorry, that sounded much funnier in my head. Anyway great lift!

Yup, salt is where it's at for putting on that last minute weight.

Haha definitely man. Not the first time I've done it either...

Nice!!! Awesome Depth

Thanks! Honestly it's probably deeper than I would normally squat but I had someone I don't usually train with calling me up. Usually the guys in my crew would call my at exactly parallel. I think it was Dave Tate that said if you get 3 whites you're squatting too deep... Well I got 3 whites on all my squats :p

I've done it a few times too... Mine don't itch though... I am heading out of town for business on Sunday and I look like a freaking zombie.

Nice squat man, sick depth. I probably would've freaked out bleeding from my ear.

Were you able to get lifts in with the bench and dead? What did you wind up totaling?

I benched 162.5kg (358lbs) and deadlifted 260kg (573lbs). I only took two bench attempts (although I probably would not have got more than this... my bench is down :(). My ear started bleeding after my first attempt and I took my shirt off ready to call it quits... There happened to be a doctor in the crowd, he took a quick look at me and told me it was probably not a huge deal and to keep going.

I totalled 692.5kg (5kg less than my best)... However, with everything that has happened in my life in the last year I am not too disappointed.

A PR squat and respectable total is a good day.

Nice squat man I should probably stick with the 90 kg weight class so I don't have to deal with your huge numbers

At 6'1" you need to be at least in the 100kg or 110kg weight class... I am only 5'8" :hello:
