I been reading up a lot of nutrition lately as I been only lifting for about 6 months. For post workout I take a shake that has: 2 scoops of why protein, a handful of blueberries, a banana and a scoop of oatmeal (With skim milk) .. My next meal is about 2 hours later.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Tomas

Too much fibre for post workout for my liking.

I really like that shake. I would probably kill the bananas and load up on blueberries. My goals may be different than yours though. I am 275 lbs maintaining and recomping with great results having a lower carb (relatively) and higher fat diet. I gotta say having a nice insulin spike right after a workout with some fast acting protein like that is a pretty good deal too. If you're looking to put on weight I'd give whole milk a shot instead of skim. I don't have any idea how much protein is in one of your scoops but I'd also make sure I'm getting 50 - 60 grams in my PWO shake.

Looks great to me, though personally I'd use whole milk. What are your goals?

Uhh, I am looking to maintain my weight as of now, maybe go up to 200 (though I want to keep the same BF)

EDIT- I am at 194 now.

Double EDIT- Heres a pic for reference.

I know it's not impressive but I lost a lot of weight (I was 280 this day last year) so know im trying to pack on some muscle.

Why whole milk?

whole milks better, the fats in the milk are the good kind. ive read that toddlers given skim milk compared with full fat milk weighed more, maybe something filling in the whole milk.

Whole milk is REALLY high in calories. Nothing more.

This was my reasoning. Easy way to get extra cals in.
