This is a somewhat interesting bar to use. Something fun for mixing it up.

The bar is bowed like a buffalo bar for squatting so it has about a 2" camber which is great for helping you get that extra depth on your bench.

Different from the arch bar (which also has a 2"+ camber) it doesn't have the angled grips, which help force you to use your lats more. The benefit though is you can use a variety of grips, while still getting the advantage of the extra range of motion.

We used doubled purples which add about 200lbs at the top.

Both AJ and myself worked up to 365lbs bar weight

And here is Tony beating us both with 405 lol

Nice. Wouldn't mind trying something like this, do you think a buffalo bar would work good for this setup?

Can't see why it wouldn't work. Probably the only reason we have the bow bar is because the buffalo bar is so long

Travis,
Is that the same kind of bar we used at your gym the first few times we did DE day? Or was it the Buff bar?

Nah, that was the arch bar, which we will be using this Saturday....

Cool- I might have to try that on the buffalo bar at our gym on my next shirtless session. The fatter grip probably also makes it a little more interesting vs. a regular TX power bar or Ivanko.

Travis- I remember watching Tony toss around 5 plates raw in the warm up room at that Nashville meet last month like it was a toy. In fact, I think he lifted off by himself as well. I figured that dude has to be a low-6's raw bencher- kind of a really rare thing. What have you seen him do?

Thanks guys! Yeah you all may be right, I could have had more in me.

One thing that I've gone back to though is hitting my PR weights in the gym and then shutting it down. Leading up to the last meet I got greedy in the gym and was consistently going after 25lb+ PRs which was a mistake. When I make my best progress is when I hit a PR and leave a little for next time. Hopefully it plays out well into training for the next meet.
