Here is my simple breakfast for the working man!!!

It's 45grams of oats (complex carbs) mixed with 35g or so of whey protein to make a strawberry flavored porridge... man it's good.


Portable Oats

Calories: 135
Protein: 5g
Total Fat: 2g
Saturated Fat: 0.38g
Total Carbohydrate: 26g
Sugars: 0.4g

Whey Protein

Calories: 175
Protein: 35g
Total Fat: 1.5g
Saturated Fat: 0.9g
Total Carbohydrate: 1.98g
Sugars: 0g

Calories: 310
Protein: 40g
Total Carbohydrate: 27.98g
Sugars: 0.24g
Total Fat: 3.5g
Saturated Fat: 1.28g


You need a container that can hold about 300-350ml.
You want to buy quick or instant oats preferably.
You want some good tasting whey protein either chocolate, strawberry or banana.

Put 40g-50g oats into the container.
Boil the kettle and fill about an inch above the oats.
Stir the water and oats together (it will look watery-ish).
Cover or seal the container for 2-4 minutes.
Empty the whey protein powder into the container and stir again.

You are now ready to eat :)

By the way you can obviously make it more or less watery by adding less water. What you need to keep in mind is that the ammount of protein you add in will soak up a lot of the water so if you don't put in enough you'll end up with dry porridge...

I like my porridge watery (as you can see from photo!) so I put in quite a bit of water :P

Haha, sorry I never actually heard of porridge anywhere else before, but it does sound good.
