Here are some tips:

1. Don't crash diet.

2. Read everything you can get your hands on if you want to do this correctly.

3. Be patient.

is it possible to lose 10-15 pounds of fat on atkins while supplementing with xenadrine any help please

05-02-2002, 06:10 PM
I did the two in combination... to be honest - I think it was a bad choice... too many changes and your body freeks out.

05-02-2002, 06:12 PM
but does it work

05-02-2002, 06:15 PM
You won't lose 10-15 pounds of FAT in a month like that.

05-02-2002, 06:19 PM
well i think its possible for me to lose about 10 pounds of fat cause i do cardio for 30 mins a day 4 times a week and i lift for 25 mins 5 days a week and the atkins diet and xenadrine mixed should help me lose that 10 pounds of fat

05-02-2002, 06:33 PM
I think if you starved yourself with just enough to stay alive for a month you might lose 10-15 pounds. More muscle than than fat though. I guess I am overlooking your weight, if your a really really big guy with a ton of bf I suppose it might be possible to lose 10-15lbs fat by doing some crazy unhealthy diets in a month. What do you weigh, and what is your bf%?

05-02-2002, 06:41 PM
i weigh 157 and im about 18 percent bf and im eating about 300 cals under maintenece im at least hoping to go down to 13 percent bf

05-02-2002, 06:58 PM
I really really hate to bust your bubble, but 15% bf in a month is 150% impossible. I would give you props to drop 3% in a month. 300 cals below maintenence isn't even that many if your goals are rapid weight/fat loss (which I get the impression yours are).
You just gotta take your time man and be patient, the fat will leave but not in a month.
My cal maintence level is about 2100 and I dropped 400 below that on a 40/40/20 and am seeing nice results in my first month, but I wouldn't say I lost anymore than 2% BF (I don't have a caliper). I was 154 when I started and about 11%.
Basically what I'm saying is my stats are in some ways close to yours and I'm on a heftier calorie defecit, yet losing much much less than you hope to in the time frame given. I hope that put it a little more into perpective for you.

05-02-2002, 07:02 PM
well lets say i lose 4 percent of bodfat how is that is that enough for me to lose most of gut

05-02-2002, 07:03 PM
how much weight is 1 percent of bodyfat

05-02-2002, 07:46 PM
Well lets see, you way 157, and 8% of that is BF (gets calculater). 157/8=19.625 You have about 20lbs of fat on you right now.
One pound of fat consists of 3500 calories, so for every 3500 calories you take out of your diet, you'll lose approximitly one pound fat (I think).
But you say you wanna lose your guy (don't we all, me included). This is where consistency and patience comes in. Ya see the fat on your stomache is stubborn and is one of the last places to get burnt from. In the first week you'll probably start seeing a bit of fat loss on your face, shoulders and other places without that much to begin with.
2 weeks in you ought to start seeing fat dissapear from your stomache, but before you have it all off and your really cut and lean it will be a good couple months.
I think you said you do cardio, good, cardio is good for fatloss and will bring your goals closer a bit quicker.
Just be patient and make sure to keep us all updated.
Good luck man

I had my math wrong, sorry about that, first thing I put your bodyfat at 8, but it's 18. Secondly I don't think that equation was right, I think you gotta take you weight and divide it by 100 then multiply it by your BF, so it would be 157/100x18=28.26
I'm still not sure this is right though, if not I see myself getting flamed real soon.

05-02-2002, 07:56 PM
At 157 and 18% bodyfat, you have about 28 pounds of fat. Losing ten pounds of fat (and 0 muscle...which is next to impossible) would put you at 147 and 12.4% bodyfat. You can do it....but it will take longer than a month.

Be patient and work hard.

05-02-2002, 08:06 PM
3% a month is MORE than possible.

Feb 4th, I was 26%
Today, I am 17 or so.

05-02-2002, 08:31 PM
chrisler youve been on atkins for 2 months

05-02-2002, 08:33 PM
im not sure if im 18 percent bf once i tried on a bf measurer it says i was 20 percent fat but i did it on a full stomach and i heard you get a wrong reading on a full stomach

05-02-2002, 08:34 PM
3 months my bad

300 calories under maintenance won't even burn off a full pound of fat in a week. There are 3500 calories in an pound of fat. Therefore, you'd need to go 500 calories under maintenance in order to burn off one pound of fat. Increased cardio will obviously speed up this process.

i know but dont forget im also doing atkins and using xenadrine

05-03-2002, 03:30 PM
Eh, I don't know, maybe you will have some good luck with what your doing. I guess if you stick the atkins very stricly take your xenadrine and get plenty of cardio and weight lifting in it will go a bit quicker than I stated before.

05-03-2002, 03:30 PM
Oh yeah, good luck again :)

05-03-2002, 03:32 PM
thanx i just had fried chicken is that ok

05-03-2002, 03:43 PM
Probably, just as long as it didn't have carbs. That's the ONE nice thing about the atkins, you can eat stuff with a lot of fat in it like fried chicken...MMmm

My buddy started atkins on jan 2nd of this year. He weighed 455 and is about 6-6. A regular fat monster. Today he weighs 382, and hopes to be at 300 by jan 2 of 2003. Its incredible how much hes lost. I figured it up and thats like 10 gallons of fat hes lost so far. thas one of the most disgusting things i can imagine.

05-03-2002, 10:52 PM
You want to lose too much, too fast. Impatience and being unrealistic will hurt you in my opinion.

05-04-2002, 01:02 AM
Yeah. You have to remember it's taken a whole lifetime to put that ugly fat on. The freaking stuff isn't just going to go away in a month.

Stick to your diet, a month will soon go and you'll look better. A gradual, but permanent reduction in fat loss is far more preferable than an unhealthy crash in weight which would be mainly muscle and water anyway.

05-04-2002, 06:21 AM
yea i know
