View Full Version : Need Advice on Best Protein Timetable!

hey guys. ok ill try to keep this short but basically im at a police training academy where my schedule is pretty much set in stone. i do my workout from 500 pm to 600 pm. dinner is served at 615 pm. so my question is, is it worth it to have a protein shake right after my workout immediately followed by dinner? or am i just wasting potential protein since im taking in too many grams in such a short period? would i be better off skipping the protein shake after my workout and going straight to dinner (which will have more than enough protein), then saving my protein shake for later in the evening? (say an hour or two before i go to bed?). any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks guys!!!

A solid meal is better than a shake will be. Take the shake before bed.

Are you drinking a shake or eating a small meal before your workout? If not I would say drink the shake then. But if you don't do that then I would say save it for bedtime

hey guys thanks for the replies. jamesw8lifter my usual day before dinner looks like this: breakfast at 700 am...lunch at 1100 am...protein shake at 300 pm...so i have a shake about 2 hours before my workout (and i take sizone creatine during my workout btw)...so is the concensus that i should just have dinner after i workout and save my second protein shake for before bedtime?:confused:
