Ok - So this game comes out Tuesday, or tomorrow night at Midnight for some. Is anyone as excited as I am? I had completely forgotten it was coming out until I got the pre-order reminder call from gamestop. Can't wait!

For some reason I never liked the original. It had great gameplay elements and art direction but I never got into it. The sequel looks a lot better and I might rent it

So so true I could just not get into the original. I can't even say why it just never drew me in. Probably skip this one as well because of that.

First one never drew me in, I understood it was a well made game but still something about it...

I beat the first game, but I don't think it was SO good that I'll need to play the sequel also. Then again, my passion for video games is dying pretty quickly. My PS3 is just a Blu-Ray player, lol.

Yeah I'd agree with most of you guys. There are two main things I don't like about the original:
1.) The weapons. Something about using 1950's weapons just doesn't seem appetizing to me. I love games like Half-Life that have creative weapons that stretch the imagination. Don't get me wrong using Adam or whatever it was called to have magic powers was kinda cool but FPS should have cool stuff like portal guns, freeze-rays, rocket launchers, and sniper rifles.
2.) It didn't seem like it, as a FPS, had much of an RPG feel. It didn't seem like you could build your character up and get new skills or abilities. It seems to me that this is where the FPS genre seems to be heading towards, and I think it's a great idea. Just look at Mass Effect 1 and 2, Borderlands, and other similar games.
But that's just me. I also tend not to be a fan of quasi-horror themes. I get spooked easily and prefer just mowing down robots or terrorists (the original Modern Warfare on Easy was one of the best experiences I've ever had in gaming).
I bought the first one when it was down to 20bucks, never even got 1/2 way through it, just stopped playing it, got bored I guess. I'll have to see how the write-ups are on the 2nd one

I loved the first one- the art direction, the game play, the story. It was the perfect difficulty on veteran as well: not quite Call of Duty random guy around the corner shoots you dead difficult, but everytime I'd hear the big daddy's footsteps I get nervous.
The reviews seem to be very positive, and multiplayer is an interesting prospect. I also pre-ordered this so I'll pick it up.

Haha Im the exact same way. Whenever I played FEAR for the PC I struggled to finish it because of all the scenes were they purposely try to scare you. Like your crawling throw a vent shaft and all of a sudden a dead girl is crawling at you full speed and burns to ashes when she reaches you.

LOL. I remember getting to that part and screaming like 10 year old girl.
I've been playing Bioshock II since Midnight and I LOVE it. Great graphics, better physics, new weapons, and plenty of new bad guys. You gotta give it to the guys that map and texture these levels out because most of the level design is flat-out amazing.
Definitely a must have IMO.

I've been seeing commercials for this game all over the place. The art/graphics look AMAZING but the story looks odd and I'm not sure about the whole vibe of the game or the gameplay.
