For anyone that cares I tested the tension of bands when doubled (not quaded) for deadlifting.

I am 5'10" and have medium length arms, these tensions are unique to me but will give you an idea anyway.

Mini band each side doubled under dumbell=46lbs total at top.

Monster bands each side doubled under dumbell=66lbs total at top.

Average bands each side doubled under dumbell=155lbs total at top.

These tensions are correct at my height, they will change a lot if you are taller, shorter and of course have different arm length etc.

Hope this helps, I know it really means nothing but it is kinda cool to know what you are lifting is it not?

Dumbells on either side of the power rack, directly under the bar.

Age of the bands will play a big role in this as well

has anyone ever tested the tension on quaded minis, monster minis and average bands. I use the quad minis alot for pulling...my guess is atleast 150lbs of tension but idk

Rich, are you talking about quadded around the pins of the rack?

I believe pulling against doubled minis on our band platform is about 180 to 220 at the top depeding on the band age and the height of the lifter. Of course the bands are spread apart on the platforma and they are not spread apart when using DBs or the rack.

Quad minis are supposed to be around 220 and MM's are supposed to be around 240 I think

The monster mini's feel like so much more though, haha

I use band pegs when I pull with bands from the rack, its pretty difficult

Pleased the info is helpful!

I will test some more soon, I have tested new mini bands quaded and they gave around 230.

The monsters would be a lot more.

Yeah Rich the were 230, of course using them quaded will wear them out much faster than having them doubled so that will take them down some.

Pretty huge tension still!

I will test the monsters soon.

Thanks! Very useful for me. I'm just barely 5'10" without shoes so it should be close for me.

No prob, it was all done conv style deadlift btw.

Seems the averages are very close to 2 pairs monsters and 1 pair minis.

Could you post a picture of the setup with the DB's. Seeing it would help me alot.
Thanks

You just quad the mini's around your biggest dumbells (mine are 110s) and put over the sleeve, then stack a 45 on each side of dumbell.

The dumbells go on the outside of the rack directly under the bar.

So you will need 2 x110 DB and 4 x 45 lb plates to hold them down.

Hope this makes sense I do not have any photo's, just try it out you really can't go wrong so long as you stack the 45's on to stop the bells flying round.
