Just curious as to how many highschool or collegiate athletes we have floating around here at this time.

I might start putting together some articles for training and post them here if there is enough interest.

Not current, but I played division 1 baseball down at Georgia Southern University. Graduated 2007 @ 6'5" 180. Now 230. I am playing in a summer league starting in May so I will report back if all this squatting/deadlifting has increased my fastball at all. I would touch 92-93 in college.

Nonetheless, I would still be interested in a focused routine for the summer time while I am playing.

I think thats a great idea Travis. I'm pretty sure we have a large highschool/collegiate following here at WBB.

I myself played highschool football and now compete in powerlifting outside of university. I think it would be beneficial for aspiring coaches too by letting them see how top level coaches train their athletes.

I would love to see more articles for sports training. Even if there isnt a lot of athletes here the articles could draw them to the site. The articles could help out other coaches and assistants as well.

It would definately be cool to see some sports training articles. I'm finished with college but have been in multiple softball leagues for the past few years and I'm planning on getting in on the over 30 basketball league at my church next season.

I like the idea. Always looking for new ideas, or just good articles to read on training.

I played arena football last year(in the IFL). Currently returning from an injury and playing semi pro football this year, and I will be trying out for the CFL, AFL, and if I can the UFL. I think it is a great idea and from some of your other posts I am really interested in applying any advice you have in my training.

Good luck, nickp8. That would be damn cool!

Travis, if it even matters, you should specify if you mean real Football or Soccer. I'm with everyone else and would like to see some sports articles, although I am just a lifter now.

Yes, I went to Central Michigan, and I've already been drafted to the CFL's Calgary Stampeders, but I'll participate in my pro-day and see if I can get a free agent deal in the NFL.

Good luck big ric. Hopefully you get picked up by a NFL team. Did you or are you considering the UFL?

I don't think I'll bother with the UFL, and yes the CFL draft was in may but they draft 4 years out of highschool and I redshirted and so my 4th year out of highschool was this last may before my senior season.

Great responses! I'll definitely start getting some stuff together and get some articles going.

First one will most likely be hip strength and it's importance for athletes.

Awesome. I don't play any collegiate level sports but when healthy am involved in all kinds of pickup basketball, soccer, tennis, etc. Would love to see an article on hip strength since it's one of my weaker areas. I think some sport training stuff would be a great draw to the site for athletes.

Just a quick update. The first article has been written and all the video has been taken.

Once the editing and such is done it'll go out with the next WBB newsletter, so if you want to receive it first make sure you're signed up for the news letter.

I'm definitely going to get some more articles out. The next one is on in season training, basically outlining how to train for your sport in season without over training or even under training.
