i could theoretically get to 300 bench, 400 squat, and/or 500 deadlift this year, so i'm up for all of the above

I really wouldn't consider this a contest...as much as a goal board and motivator.

i agree kmagnuss. doesn't make me want it any less... i'm kinda surprised at the (apparent) lack of interest

I'm not sure whether I'll have gym access over the summer, but what the hell. It will be good to make myself accountable.

I'm in. :)

I started off very weak and very skinny. Then got not so skinny and not so weak about a year ago. Then got into running and yoga and regressed in strength.

I don't know my true maxes but I'm somewhere in the low-mid 300s for squat and low-mid 400s for deadlift.

Let the games begin!

Hmmmm could a person raise their dl by 300 lbs in one year? I guess we'll find out.

I'm in

Started DL at 90lbs 1/4/10

Well, I haven't maxxed out in any of the major 3 in a long, long time.

I think my last tested max in bench was 285 like a year and a half ago.

Squat was around 335 340.

Deadlift was (without straps) 405, with 455.

I'm pretty sure I'm alot stronger, but I guess I'm in, more for self motivation than anything else.

I'll participate for my raw totals. Really close to squat already but bench and deads will take a little while.

What do your current lifts have to be to get in on this? (I realize it's just for fun) Last time I tried (maybe ~3-4 months ago), I had a 290 bench (def. max), and 495 DL (more left in tank, I think).... my squat is terrible, I just started squatting again. Every time I get down to parallel or beyond my back arches (bad arch) like mad.... I think I've only done a 330 squat, won't go any higher with my current form.

All raw, no straps, belt, wraps, etc.....

Your lifts can be wherever. Why not? A 400 squat and a 500 deadlift are still big milestones.

My first squat update.
Singles with 150kg (330lbs) and they felt fine!
I reckon I can get to 160kg (353lbs) fairly quickly and then it will get hard.

I'm shooting for a 2 plate bench, 3 plate squat and 4 plate deadlift on my 34th b-day (May 19th).

I'll try to get in on this just for Deadlift. I just hit 405 on Deadlift back in Jan and I'm pretty sure I can get it up to 500 by December. My Bench is already over 300 though and there is no way I'll get my squat to 400 this year.

I don't know what my issue with squats is. I never consistently trained legs through high school and college but I've made squats a regular part of my routine for a little over 2 years now and I never seem to progress very far with them. As soon as I start going above 275 my form goes to **** and i end up doing 1/4 squats. I just started 5/3/1 this week though and my goal for Squats is to be able to do a solid set of 315x5 with good form by December. Then I'll shoot for 400 next year.

I've always attributed my DL being so much better than my squat to being tall and having long arms, but I think I might just have a psychological issue with doing squats where when i put on more weight at a certain point I just don't feel comfortable going to full depth. It also doesn't help that I've had stiff/achey knees for a few years now. So sometimes I feel like my legs might be strong enough but I'm limited by my joints. I guess I'm just making excuses though...

So this is where I'm at as of my last DL day (last set of the day for 5/3/1):

4/27 - 315x10 (estimated max 420)

Well, I deadlifted 390 today and it wasn't the hardest pull I've ever done. I think within the next 3-4 weeks I will have 405 which has been a goal of mine for a bit now. Bench is pretty lame though comparatively, and Squat is decent, but could be better.

Waht I wanna see from you guys is some 1RM lifting videos with badass heavy metal playing in the background.

My maxes are probably 190 bench, 275 squat, and 315 deadlift but I'll still join in.

Sweet!

Was there an actual thread and sign-up for this?

If you want to join in then do it. What are your lifts?

I haven't abandoned this - I just eased off weight-training for a bit. But I'm back on the weights and I'm doing HCT-12. So it's all 6rm stuff and I don't know if I should bother updating this thread with 6rm prs. Eventually I'll have to switch down to lower rep ranges because I will get a 400lbs squat by year's end! And possibly a 500lb dead, though I think that will be much harder.

This thread needs more competitors!
