View Full Version : High calorie, low cholesterol foods

I'm looking to add about 300-400 calories to my daily diet and am looking for easy foods (can eat at work) that are low in cholesterol since mine is a bit high. I added 300 about a month ago by eating more in the morning and before bed and will continue to add more and more calories slowly over the next few months.

It's been a while but I'm pretty sure that dietary cholesterol is only found in animal fats. No animal fats, no dietary cholesterol. Eat a jar of peanut butter and there you go.

A large handful of almonds is apprx. 300 calories. they're easy to eat anywhere and are high in protein, some might say the perfect snack

Olive oil is a source of fat often touted as raising "good" cholesterol and lowering "bad" cholesterol.

Also bear in mind that a healthy body makes ~80% of it's own cholesterol. If you eat more, you make less. The only people that should be worrying about cholesterol are those that have arterial disease.

Dietary cholesterol doesn't necessarily raise cholesterol levels.

get some peanut butter and add a tsp. or two of olive oil. simple and quick intake of calories
