Washing/Cleaning Gear

So.. I found a deal for two used shirts for the price of one new so that I could try the sizing out... gf got them today (all packages go her family business) and she said what I was expecting.. they are a little funky and covered in chalk... no biggie, but seeing as it is not my funk I would like to wash/clean them.

I have seen a couple topics and most say don't wash, FeBreeze them... but none say how to wash... ie in the washer (guessing not, maybe on gentle?), by hand. Assuming hang to dry... I did pick up some Power Soap, but it is coming with the suit I just ordered so I do not have it yet...

Any tips or tricks appreciated. (I will check PL watch tonight when I get home, no access from work... blocked site)

If it matters they are both single ply F6's.

I would stick with what others have said, either just Febreeze it or use the power wash stuff Titan sells. You never know how the gear is going to come out when you wash it.

That being said, a guy I train with washes his Boss suit before every meet. Washes it on cold, and doesn't dry it. I'd say if you're going to wash it, do it by hand. Taking into consideration that its a single ply shirt, there's even more of a chance you'll screw the gear up.

Be glad its not an Inzer shirt. For some reason those things hold stink so bad, haha

I purchased my double ply katana through liftinglarge.com and it was obviously used once or twice from the funky smell and minor chalk stains. I filled my sink up with water and pour 2 bottle caps of titan power wash formula and let it soak for a good minute. took it out and squeezed out the remaining liquid til it was damp and moist. air dried in the machine with NO HEAT and gentle setting. after 2 cycles, it was smell free and no signs of negatively affecting the fabric.

Ive washed my SDP several times. Usually I just spray it down with some febreeze and throw it in the cold cycle and hang it to dry. Never had any problems.
