Ok, so I just read through the pre/post-workout meals thread in the sticky above and now I know that protein and carbs are good for pre-workout and just protein is good for post-workout. But what about for the rest of the day? When should I eat what? I usually workout at night time if that will help. I can also post what all I eat in a day if you guys would like.

No one knows?

It's generally accepted that post workout you should be taking a combination of protein AND carbs.

Space the rest out between the rest of the day as is convenient to you.

The only thing I woul say is that if your goals are to reduce weight bodyfat, I would reduce carbs towards the evening and eat most of them around breakfast and lunch.

Ok thanks. But my goal is to get bigger. Also, how much carbs should I be eating throughout the day? How much fat?

Ok I got my questions answered. For how much carbs, it depends on how much exercise and everything I do so I need to keep carbs proportional with exercise. And for fat, I just need enough to get the good fats in me.

Thanks!

I'm with DC on this.. I take carbs both pre and post workout and match the amount of carbs to the amount of protien intake which is typically around 40-50 grams of complex carbs with whey or a whey/casein blend and seems to not only keep me energized while watching my calories but also keeps me recovering well.

When bulking I'd say it depends on your body type and how many meals a day you plan on/ can afford to take in.
