Who does it? I recently switched to sumo and I recover from deads 10x faster. I don't feel beat up at all after sumos. Conventional I struggled with pulling heavy every other week.

Now, I'm thinking of pulling heavy every week but on squat day just squat first then pull heavy.

Something like

Week 1 ME lower body
Squat- work up to a max single
Deadlift-heavy 3x5

Week 2 me lower body
Deadlift-Work up to a max single
No heavy back squatting.

Repeat.

I've found I can deadlift heavy 1-2 times a week if I use variants. I almost always do some type of heavy deadlifting on ME day. On DE day, I do speed one week and go heavy the next week. I tried to only do speed work every 3-4 weeks, and I got too slow off the floor.

Interesting, thanks.

I normally hit deadlifts heavy after I do my heavy squatting. My next cycle I'm gonna deadlift 2 weeks on and 1 week off after squats.

I've found I can't go heavy every week, so I'll usually go:

Week 1: Heavy Conventional Variation & Speed Pulls
Week 2: Heavy Sumo Variation & Speed Pulls
Week 3: Speed Pulls only
Repeat

I do something similar to marcus. Fridays i always pull heavy sumo out of the pins after my squats, usually with chains. Mondays I go lighter usually standing on a platform conv or sldl.

I do heavy convential deadlift movement every other week. I rotate snatch grip deadlift on platform, pin pulls from below knees and standard deadlift with chains. I usually perform RDL's and Good Mornings every week for reps. I hit Good Mornings heavy on the off week of deadlifts. Works good for me at 49 years old.

I do a 4 week wave as part of 5-3-1 but still pull every week with the de-load every 4th week. It's worked fine and I don't usually feel beat up from pulling, even on the weeks where I'm squatting heavy, too.

I do a 4-week wave as well just a little different...

wk-1 DL speed pulls w/ bands
wk-2 Hvy. goodmornings
wk-3 DL heavy pulls
wk-4 deload

all done after sqauts

A 3 week wave has worked well for us.

week 1: conventional variant for a 3 RM
week 2: same, for a 1 RM
week 3: sumo speed pulls in briefs

After every 3rd week we change the movement (deficit deads, reverse band etc.)

We do squats 3 days before.

i don't have set rotation for deadlifts..i've been going by feel. heavy deadlifts are very taxing. however I do fit in accessory deadlift movements often.

Everything works but no program works forever.
If you like what your doing keep it going.
Just remember the truth always falls somewhere in the middle of what your thinking and what's practical.

If I were to do(I dont) I would def do it after squatting.
