Not as good of a week this week on bench my garage gym was about 100 degrees today and very humid. Also down about 4 more pounds from last week. Just wanted to update with a couple of videos.

455x1 (was going for 3 but hit a wall on the 2nd rep) I got 3 last week though but at a heavier BW.

Bodyweight tonight was 238.

Thanks guys. Yeah the 405 gets easier every week. If I done straight reps I could probably go 8-10 reps. So on the 455 would you guys say I need more tricep work? The first one felt really easy I'm not sure what happened that I couldn't hustle out the 2nd rep. I finally got some good 3/4" chains last week so that will help me in my tricep work. I'll work them in with my DE day on Fridays and rotate bands/chains.

Make sure you are locking out your reps on every set. First two on the 415 set were a little short. That's going to play into your tricep training a good bit

How wide is that bench you're training on? Looks pretty narrow

Thanks Travis. I've not measured the width but the bench I compete on when I go to meets is even more narrow than my bench.

What fed do you compete in?

I suppose it could be the angle I'm looking at that bench at, but it just looks super narrow, which can be really bad on your shoulders. Most competition benches are 12" I think

Nice looking lifting, Travis helped me with my lockout as well, even a little short on training reps can cause you trouble later with tri strength, or you could mis a lift you other wise might make by lifting it short just out of muscle memory?

Oddly enough I graduated from Marshall University 'The Herd', Riff Ruff. However, have lived in southeast Ky my whole life. I sport more UK apparel than I do Marshall, lol.

Awesome raw strength jm!!!

I have the same problem w/ not completly locking out "all" my reps... I'm getting better though as my training partners give me hell for it!!!

The 405 looked too easy! I had to look again to make sure there were 4 plates! Good job!

Done floor presses with chains yesterday and made certain I locked out each rep. My elbow tendonitis is killing me today from it. Floor presses are significantly harder than regular bench. I worked up to 405 with 60 pounds of chain for 5 good reps.
