Recently I've been wondering, does the calorie and fat content on those frozen meat patties factor in the fact that I'm going to be using a george foreman grill or anything else that sizzles out so much of the fat? I just got some ground sirloin patties and it says 28g of protein and 320 calories on the back 200 from fat, is most of that just gone by the time the patty has shrunk down to about half the original size? I'm assuming the protein isn't flowing out in the nasty fat droplets coming out of the grill, and it would be nice to maximize the protein per calorie count plus I like my burger patties burnt to a crisp anyway...

PS- Has anyone tried the NuWave oven thing? Does it do an even better job of this? It costs so much I don't want to be out a few hundred just to test it.

The label is for uncooked meat. The George Foreman grill really does not reduce the fat of meat cooked on it. Testing has shown the reduction to be less than 3%, most of the loss is water. Fat is good anyway. Lose the bun if you're cutting calories, bread is crap. Leaner cuts of meat would be better also if cutting calories. Burgers are cheap if on a budget, so that's a factor.

if they are grilling it on a flame broiled grill -yes the fat drips off very fast and if it is well done almost all of the fat is gone, if you want to get even more fat off of it press it with a spatula and squeeze as much juice out as you can
