View Full Version : Trying to gain 15lbs. using HCT-12

Just starting this routine, only working out 3 days a week for the first couple rotations due to taking the MCAT soon.
Stats
23 yo, 5'10, 170lbs.

First workout:
Bench 95x6, 135x6, 185x6, 205x6, 225x6/2/2/2
Vbar rows 75x6, 100x6, 125x6, 150x6, 160x6/2/2/2
Hammer Strength Shoulder Press 50x6, 90x6, 140x6, 180x6/2/2/2
Pullups BWx6/6, 20x6/2/2/2 (ya, my pullups suck)
Dips BWx6, 30x6, 50x6, 70x6/2/2/2

just wondering, for next time am I adding 5lbs to each set or just adding 5lbs to the last set?
Example:
Bench 95x6, 135x6, 185x6, 205x6, 230x6/2/2/2 OR
Bench 100x6, 140x6, 190x6, 210x6, 230x6/2/2/2

Its added weight to your top set. Good luck on the weight gain, and the MCAT's. I just got done taking mine, and Im using this program to try and gain weight as well. Keep up the work man, from the short time I've been doing this program I've gained 10lbs and haven't hit my first deload week yet.

Thanks for the reply. How was the mcat? Mine is in 10 days, just finishing content review, I feel like I didn't give myself enough time, but we'll see.

Hamm. S Shoulder Press 50, 90, 140, 170, 190x6,2,2,2 (+10)
Pullups BW, BW, 20, 30x4,2,2,2
Dips 20, 40, 60, 80x6,2,2,2 (+10)

everything went up 10lbs except my pullups. I missed it by 2 reps on the initial 6 reps. i still felt i had some left in the tank for all the exercises except hammer strength shoulder press. i feel like i'm gonna stall out soon.

Felt strong today. Didn't have much sleep but did take a nap before the workout. Surprising I did this well. Had lots left in the tank for all exercises except abs. I think next workout will be good as well.

Abs BW, 10, 20, 25x6222 (same, better form though)

the 6 reps of squats and sldl are getting tough at the end. curls are becoming difficult, can feel some body english.
