I am getting pretty frustrated at the moment.... :(

Heres my situation.. After Christmas my training and diet slacked off and I lost interest..

However in the last 6 weeks my training has been spot on and the last 2 weeks my diet has been spot on..

My diet is VERY clean 6 day per week and literally is limited to the best sources of food..

Over the last 2 weeks I feel I have put on some bodyfat and actually feel I look worse :( However I am only eating 3200 - 3500 cal's which is not a lot at all really...

How can I not be gaining or showing good muscle but putting on fat ?

I AM getting alot stronger each session but this doesn't at the moment seem to be equating into muscle, or maybe it is but my bf levels are too high to notice.. (17% ish), or maybe I have to be patient and give the strength gains time to equate intpo some serious muscle.
I know my diet has only been good for 2 weeks..

I have not weighed myself in a while but I know I started to lose some weight when I slacked and I think I am pretty much back to normal now (185-190)

I will weigh myself tonight and every week for 4 weeks to evaluate my gains..

Any ideas or recommendations..

I've said this a thousand times .... and I know alot of people on this board disagrees with me, but YOU CAN'T FORCE FEED MUSCLE GROWTH. Maybe your just eating too many carbs. If your Glycogen stores are full when consuming carbs ..... guess what your body does with them ??

Try lowering your carbs slightly or doing some cardio. I'd also look at eating lower glycemic carbs.

Erhm. That sucks. I eat carbs all day long. Massive carbs all day long.

I don't seem to be putting any bodyfat on so far through my bulking/bingeing. Sorry. Don't hit me. :D
But it could be because I work retail, and I am constantly walking from place to place at a steady pace, because customers are screaming help me.

I eat about 60+ carbs every 2 hrs like that.

Well I am eating 300-350 per day and I sit on my ass in the office all day, drive my car home and to the gym etc...

Basically no cardio activity.. But I figured this would be good for getting big, but I am thinking it might be a bit too much to keep bodyfat levels from getting out of control...

hmm still thinking... :)

How often do you eat hulk? I too sit on my ass all day in my office and I've done cardio twice in the last 2 months. And as you know, I'm eating about 4200 calories a day, including 425g of carbs. Not having a problem with fat, though.

I eat over 500g of carbs a day in total.

I've been eating a few more calories than Gino for a couple of months now.

I have noticed an increase in bodyfat but not an amazing one. My top 'two pacs' are still there and my waist is still 'trim' but i ain't trim in bodybuilding terms.

I am also getting bigger but my weight gain from the scales seems to be slow.

Franskter I eat 6 meals a day spaced 2.5-3 hours apart...

I think I just have a super slow metabolism.. :(

gino

Increase the frequency of your meals. I started eating every 2-2.5 hours when I upped my calories. I eat 8 meals now - 500-550 calories each.

"YOU CAN'T FORCE FEED MUSCLE GROWTH"

You have to force feed muscle growth.

lol .... knew you'd have something to say Mr 25,000 Calories. :)

My point is that muscle growth can only occur at a certain rate. It's a fact that you will not stimulate anymore "muscle growth" from eating 5000 then you would eating 10,000.

Thankyou and good night.

"lol .... knew you'd have something to say Mr 25,000 Calories. "

Hehe, we had this discussion on musclemag a while ago.

"My point is that muscle growth can only occur at a certain rate. It's a fact that you will not stimulate anymore "muscle growth" from eating 5000 then you would eating 10,000."

That depends, what if my mainenence level is 5500?

I don't know how we got into all this bull when he was asking about his diet?

You say you eat 3000 cal. How much do you weigh? BF% what types of food do you eat? What are your goals?
maybe shift to a
50% P
40% C
20% F

Cackerot69
04-30-2001, 02:10 PM
gino - not quite, but it is actually 5100.

gino
04-30-2001, 02:35 PM
MAINTENANCE is 5100? I thought you were gaining weight. If so, how many calories are you eating? You haven't blown out your o-ring yet while taking a massive a$$ ripping sh!t? That's amazing.

Cackerot69
04-30-2001, 02:49 PM
I'm currently cutting and losing 1lb a week.

I'm eating 4600 cals per day.

So, there is a 500 calorie deficiency.

Therefore, maintenance = approx 5100.

gino
04-30-2001, 02:58 PM
Cutting at 4600 cal? Holy crap, it's Greg Kovacs. I'm bulking now at 4500 - I might up it to closer to 5000 soon, though. Cack, you would have been proud of me if you saw me eat yesterday. I ate about 6500 calories, including about 100g of SATURATED fat. I could feel my heart laboring to pump the bacon bits and mayo through my veins. I was so bloated this morning because I ate 2100 calories worth of pepperoni deep dish pizza at 9:30 last night. I then washed it down with a half pint of ben & jerrys chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. - 700+ calories.

Frankster

Good work Gino! I wonder if we have that ice cream in Canada-hmm, gonna have to check it out, seems you guys like it

Hey new guy, we all like to joke around from time to time if you haven't noticed. Deal with it!

BTW, your math seems to need work.tuttut You wrote up a diet with the macronutrients adding up to 110%.
