My grip was an issue, so I did use straps, but 775 lbs is the most I have ever pulled from the floor.

Great pull!

Thats a really unique style with the really rounded upper back and high hips...is that something you have deliberately tried to cultivate or just what comes naturally? Its definately a really economical movement.

Good question. It was deliberate. Believe it or not, I was a crap conventional puller when I was younger. A few years back I read Bob People's book and he talked about things like rounding of the upper back etc. I then started over with my form and have worked my way into being a pretty good puller (now I just need to get my darn grip going!).

Awesome pulling Chris!

What are you doin' for your grip? Have you tried CoC grippers or static holds of any kind? They both really helped my grip while DL'ing.

I am just starting the static holds.

That's how I started pulling also. I focus now on keeping my head down and shoulders a lil more rounded then I use to. I also started dropping my hips more and try to use more legs.

Wow great job Chris that pull was sick Quick question since you have been pulling with a more rounded upper back like konstantin and bob peoples does it feel more natural like do you think the same weight would be harder to pull if you had chest and head up and shoulders back ?Just wondering as i remember reading a interview with Konstantin Konstantinovs and he said he could only get up to around 750 with a straight back and more legs then when he started rounding the upper back his deadlift took off.

Great pull. It's interesting to note that although he's rounded over a bit, he maintains that angle on the way up. I've noticed that most who pull with a rounded back successfully maintain their back angle as well. People I see who start arched or neutral and get rounded over on the way up seem to always struggle with the lockout. It makes me wonder if the key isn't necessarily the back angle, but maintaining whatever back angle you choose to pull with.

Just saw the video, great pull!

What was your bodyweight in the video? That has to be close to 3.5X bodyweight.

Yeah, I've bumped the goal to mid 800s without straps and 900 with straps before I done.
