You'll rip them all open during the farmers walk/keg carry medley and ruin yourself for the rest of your strongman competition.

This was after the nurse on site had cleaned up the tears. I didnt even finish the farmers walk because the blood got onto the left handle and made it slick, no way i could pick it up to hold it.

The local news even featured it :)

Wow man, that's pretty bad. I've had 1 or 2 tear real deep like that but never so many at once.

wow dude that's intense. I've ripped 2 at once and bled everywhere and it hurt like a bitch. I cannot imagine what that feels like!

I've started to gnaw on mine when I'm bored. Helps to keep them down...and it's fun

I usually do it every squat or bench session, on the knurling on the bar, good stuff. Man those look like they really, really sucked, but lessons learned.

I have done the same thing before... did anyone there have super glue? You can usually glue the skin back down if you need to finish out the rest of a contest.

My advice would be to pick up a Ped Egg, they are only about $10 and will take care of the calluses for you. To speed up the recovery of your hands you may want to try soaking them in epsom salts for the next couple of days.

No superglue but I did use a few coats of NuSkin (which burned like you would not believe). It helped for a bit but they opened up again on stones.

ill try the epsom salt and ped egg idea

i tried a 300lb stone my 2nd time every doing stones and although it was a cock fight, I emerged successful.. once my groin heals up I've got to really start hitting these hard..

grats on taking 2nd!! how heavy were the farmers that did you in?

they were only 250 ea. but the handles were awfully tiny.. i put the handles in the pad of my hand right on top of my calluses because im used to larger handles.. looking back i should have gripped them like a DL bar maybe...

Update: They are finally healed. Took about 4 weeks. Just made sure to stay away from farmers, and I did soak them in some epsom salt during the first week of them being all effed up.
