I think in time he can if he chooses. He looks incredibly strong. He looks good for a very comfortable 650-670 in competition with press and rack commands. Just my opinion. I hope he does more. I think Ryan's the best bencher of all time.

Yeah I know someone on PLW was complaining about the bounce on that bench but I would die for a bench like that bounce or no bounce. I can't wait to see what he does. Kind of sucks to see a certain person is back to filling up PLW with all his BS though.

The funny thing is, it's not a bounce. It's a sink. I do the same thing raw. I learned it from watching a lot of big guys bench back in the day. Throwing a pause in is not a major deal. Sinking the bar is perfectly acceptable within the rules. You just can't heave the bar, which is getting a press call and then sinking it lower to get a rebound.

Im working on the sink right now vinny. As long as you sink before the press its legal. Watch pacifico on youtube bench 550ish or so. The bar sinks in about 3-4 inches then he pauses it still gets the press then shoots it to lock out. I need some of that!

Ryan is a monster and I hope he hits a Big number. If he pushes himself into the 330-340's like he did for that 1100 who knows what hell do. It will be amazing though.

Extremely impressive. He's got WELL over 700 in him. Mendelson's record is going down.

Vincent you told me I was the best..... Lol!

Ryan best heavy for sure

Joe Mazza best light for sure

I talked to Ryan this week. Weighin 312 said he is gonna try to put a few lbs on before meet on Sat. Knowing Ryan the way I do I can say the video was just a teaser for the Internet world. I will post on Sat as soon as I hear from him.

That house has such a crazy raw and geared game. I don't think anyone will ever match it. That being said, you'll always be number one in my heart big guy.

Exactly! He is controlling the weight all the way through.

That bench completely blows my mind... never imagined the human body could perform such feats of strength. The weight, the speed, all of it was freakishly strong. The best of the best!

Didn't end up going to the meet, couldn't get work off... but some training partners went, Ryan opened with 625 or 650 and got it, second was 675.. tweaked his pec on the way down and rolled on his belly, called it a day after that.

Spoke with Ryan late last night. He hit a successful opener of 650. 2nd attempt was 675. Said he felt like his bicep tendon was pulling on the desent. Rather then pushing through it he decided not to risk further injury and had spotters take it and call it a day. Not the day he wanted but he still walked away with a 50 lbs meet pr. He is going to heal up and get back at it.

I was at this meet as it was my first meet. I was going to do one in Michigan in October but my partner at Detroit Barbell had to pull out because he hurt his back. So I went to this meet with Ricky Lahourcade as my coach from Northwest Barbell. It was insane to watch Ryan bench in person. I have an OK video of his 650 that I can post up later. it was extremely crowded so there was somebody kind of in the way. He was an extremely nice guy. I didn't talk to him during his flight obviously because the look on his face showed that if anyone broke his concentration he'd throw them into another dimension. After he was done lifting though, he answered a bunch of questions, took pictures and helped everybody else. There were a ton of strong bench only and push pull guys there. When I get a little more time later I'll put the video up for you guys.

Wow, that was a generous press call. Well, I think Ryan is a beast and I hope he ends up doing more down the road. That being said, it makes me marvel at what Henderson and Mendy were able to accomplish even more. I know Mendy's equipped benches can be quite controversial, but there is no denying that crazy bastard brought 715 raw to his chest and then pressed it to lockout.

655 looked easy! Sorry to hear he sustained an injury on the 2nd attempt, but I'm sure he'll be back...

Frankly, I'd rather see him break the geared 1100lb. barrier than the Raw record.

That was a quick press call but still impressive. Just out of curiousity does anyone know what Ryan's raw training has been like?
