View Full Version : water loading/cutting for meet

I know it has been discussed before and I did a lot of reading, I guess Im looking for a little help with timing in regards to myself specifically.
as of right now I sit at roughly 227-230 and my meet is Oct. 16. I will be traveling about 2.5 hours after work to make weigh ins. I will work Friday from 7:30-3:30 or so and get to weigh ins hopefully by 6:30-7:00.
I will try and loose the weight over the next couple of weeks anyway and try and save myself but If I am still overweight I would like to try the water load.
So Im thinking start monday with a gallon of water to break myself in with plenty of salty stuff, Moving up to 2 gallons Tuesday through thursday, and basically completely cut it off for friday until weigh ins.
Does this sound about right? also will carbs make any difference during this? should I avoid anything?

Do a search, I made a thread about this a few years back that got some really good responses and may have even had a play-by-play of what I did/how I felt. I went from 292 to 277 I think
