Do you count the calories from what you drink. I usually get 1000-1500 calories a day from what I drink (V-8 splash, Gatorade, and Tea) but I don't count those. The only drink I count the calories from is milk, and weight gainer shakes. I'm on a 4500 plus calorie diet. I get roughly 3500 from food, and the rest from the milk and shakes. Should I be counting the calories from the other beverages?

yes because 4500 calorie count is actually 5500 to 6000 technically..

Why wouldn't you? A calorie is a calorie, it doesn't matter where it comes from.

I would never hit my calorie intake without liquids :)

So a calorie from a pepsi is the same as a calorie from a pasta dish? The reason I wasn't counting the calories from the drinks is because I had always heard of empty calories, and heard people talking about how hard it is to get 4500 cals a day. Apparently I'm getting 6000 plus a day with no problem. It kind of threw me for a loop. I figured the empty cals didn't count.

Empty calories just means that there was little positive nutritional value, like from the sugar in sodas.

10-4 on counting calories from drinks! a good habit to get into is to try just to drink water, and then those extra calories you can chew them! i love to eat food more than i do drink my calories, so i try to just drink water, unless its shakes of course. lol
