Great job man. That's a good looking squat. Lifts like that and you'll place well in your class.

Solid squat man, I hope to hit 500 before I graduate (next few months).

Out of curiosity, have you ever checked your vertical? Can you grab rim?

Very strong squat!!

Is it still raw if you have ear phones on?

Awesome work dude!!

Thanks guys!! Nick the song in the vid it the same song I listened too while hitting that 500x1. Carnifex!!

I'm not sure what my vertical is. Genetically I've always had ****ty hops growing up I never wanted to be the kid to do the tip off. Since I started squatting my hops have gotten much better. When I play basketball I get comments on how high I can jump and rebound over the bigger guys. I can jump and hang on a rim but still can't dunk. It is one of my goals. Weird thing is I was always pretty fast and still am but couldn't jump till I started squatting. Usually speed and jumping go together.

From todays training

535x1

Kinda looks high but if you pause it at the right moment it would pass in competition probably a 2 white 1 red which is perfect. What do you guys think? I also had some left in the tank on this lift.

Good lord, dude. Jealous of your squat. Our benches and deadlifts are similar, but your squat owns mine. By a lot. Damn you :)

Thanks Kosh! I was born to squat! After further evaluation I've decided to count the 535

How many raw comps allow wraps? I used them for the first time the other day, and they added 30 lbs right away. Had I wrapped them tighter and gone a bit heavier, I could've gotten a lot more out of them.

I say this not to discredit your lifts, it's just because I want to compete raw eventually and I'm curious what the percentage of raw competitions is that allow knee wraps. I was under the impression that most allow only belts, a lot allow only belt and wrist wraps and a pretty small portion allow belts, wrist wraps and knee wraps.

I dunno how many raw feds allow wraps I know some do. Even if you don't compete in wraps they are still an excellent tool to utilize.

Great lift. As long as at least one fed says wraps are raw, that works for me.

Off the top of my head I know that SPF allows wraps in the raw division (untested w/ monolift). NASA also allows wraps in the raw division (drug tested, walked out).

Just to add to that, the APF doesn't allow wraps in their raw division, but I believe they made a subdivision called "classic raw" or something like that and it does allow wraps.

That's correct. APF has "raw" that is monolift w/ no knee wraps. There is also "classic," but I'm not sure if all meets have that division or not. I know that some APF meets do. The APF meets in Texas usually have Equipped or Unequipped. I have not seen "classic" as an option here.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe that Jon Grove from NGBB is the only one that offers the "classic raw" division.

The APF Raw Challenge in December in Willowbrook, IL is having the classic option as well.

Thanks guys! If you notice I stand wider in my meet video. This stance is still somewhat new and I feel strong and recover better with it! Also if you listen in the backround you can hear my training partner count 3 2 1. This lets me know where I'm at depth wise, I've never seen this method used before. With gear its usually back back back up! I don't think this works to good with raw squatting because when raw the kinetic chain of energy/stretch reflex comes more into play. Just thought I'd share that with you guys.
