IS speed work a norm for you or are you just trying things out. Only reason I ask is I always wonder what speed squats would do for a raw squatter. I have wanted to try them during a raw cycle but have never got around to it.

why would speed squats not help a raw squatter? isn't it a norm for raw guys to have DE days?

Rob, first, good depth and that is the most proper box squat I have ever seen you do.

It wasn't a speed squat. Speed squats don't involve that much exertion and are much faster. That was just a heavy raw squat with 585 and bands.

I am a raw squatter and low box speed squats have helped me out tremendously. Not only with explosion out of the hole but staying upright in the hole as as well.

Well Scott I am doing mostly deadlift focused Max Effort training and more speed squats. But to answer your question I just started and I limit my sets to just 6 sets normally no higher then 455x2x2.

I'm one of the best raw squatters in the world and I have never used a speed day.

It would be interesting to see you play around with some speed squats.

I've been wanting to make a thread asking about this, what are your thoughts on box squats in general for raw squatting?

Agree with all of this.
