That was Mark Lichtenburger. He'd just broken Ernie Frantz 50-54 squat record that had stood for 19 years or so! He'd been chasing it for a couple of years and finally got it. The meet was the APF Georgia. That was me in the red and blue Titan singlet that came out front to congratulate him. He's a great guy. He was understandably a little out of control after breaking that record!

Thanks for the back story, I was wondering why he was so excited and I would have done the same thing. Really proves that you can always break records no matter what age you are.

If I remember right he got 2 whites and one red. Seemed like a really nice guy and I'm glad he got it.
He was so excited I doubt he felt a thing when he hit the floor LOL.

If I remember, 771 or 777 lbs. (right in that ball park). Can't remember if it was 181 or 198. Do you remember Beverly?

I would have rather missed the lift. Just kidding. That fall was really funny though.
