Its amazing that your did deadlifting 635 for 9 reps. its very tough to do like u did it . but this made your spaniel damage or making life time damage to it. so when ever you want to did that made it with precaution.

5'9, thanks

What can you pull for a single?

haven't tested. i've been using hct 12 lately and just decided to keep going one day instead of stopping at six when i took this video. hard to guess the one rep max based on touch and go but seeing the trends in my training compared to before id say 750ish

that's some heavy pulling! I'm kinda new to this so I've never seen that kinda stance, what do you call it?

It's a narrow sumo stance.

Very nice.

Im willing to bet 750 would move very fast for you.

I was curious about that as it depends on his weakness. If he is relatively weak off the floor that set is tough to predict from because he is getting the pop on all of the reps except the first.

750 would be a VERY nice pull.

End, why do you give a max a go?

well, the last few times i've maxed the weakness was at the top, but this stance is relatively new to me and i don't feel that i've even encountered a weight heavy enough to really make me struggle with it. i've heard from others who have tried this stance that the top becomes the problem when it gets heavier so who knows. i'll give a max a go in a while, id have to slightly program in a mini peak for it. 750 would be nice though..would it be nice enough for free nitreans :P

There is a reason everyone is so impressed by that video...........deads are king (no strap deads) and everyone knows it!

Just watched it again, it did look fairly easy for you so I look forward to your next video.......perhaps 675 x6?

thank you so much brother! the no straps part was pretty hard especially with this grip because not all of my hand is on knurling. i was thinking for my next feat 655x6 deadstop reps.

Sounds good!

Yeah I was thinking about trying one finger on the smooth each side, how much does it cut the distance?

My grip is pretty good but I know it will be harder that way.

i'm not sure how much it cuts distance, doesn't seem like much it just makes the stroke smoother. i can usually hold 800 in my hands np, 675 is pretty tough to hold with this grip.

WTF?!

Anyways, that is some incredible strength! That's the most narrow sumo stance I've ever seen. You mentioned this is new to you, do you usually pull conventional or sumo? And why did you switch to this style?

i used to be suited sumo until i realized my raw pulling strength was lacking so i switched to raw conventional for over a year and then for probly 2 months i've adopted this style. i switched to this because everything else seemed to either injure my glute or hip and with this form i get no discomfort.

Strong back to start with hips so high!
the long arms might help ;)

thank you sir!

Just curious as to what kind of routine you are using for your deadlifts? Do you always pull from the floor or do you use variations?

well when i was in season i was using mike t's rts training which worked very well and was a good mix of volume and intensity. right now i'm using hct12 one day is a feeder workout with rack pulls and i do what i plan to do off the floor on the rack pulls for the following workout. so if i want to deadlift 675x6 off the floor i'd rack pull 675x6. seems to be working well.
