Hi guys,

1) What Belts do you use in Deadlifts ?

2) Deadlifts -

4 inch powerbelt vs 3 inches front / 4 inches rear tapered belt,

kinda like Bobs deadlift belt

3) Deadlift
13mm vs 10mm Powerbelt

Thanks.

I own a 4 inch Bob's powerbelt and have been extremely pleased with it. I can't help you with the differing models and companies out there, but I will vouch for Bob's Belts in general.

1) same one i use for squats; Inzer 10mm single prong

2) cant comment as I never used a tapered belt

3) its preference. the 13mm is going to give a bit more support considering its 3mm thicker. I find my 10mm is a bit more flexible when putting on. FI: I have both inzer forever single prongs in 10mm and 13mm.

10mm or spud dl belt.

13 is too thick.

You sure love the belt and wrap questions, do you have any gear yet?

No belt, I feel like it makes it harder to get in position and harder to get a breath, the pains of being fat.

As Nick mentioned you may want to look at this belt if you feel like a regular power belt is getting in the way when deadlifting:

Spud, Inc. Deadlift Belt (http://www.southcarolinabarbell.com/salestemplate/spudincmain.asp?ProductNumber=SPUD21) (It is $44 with the current promotion)

Have you or anyone else use this belt when wearing a DL suit? how does it compare to a regular power belt? I find using my 10mm inzer belt over my suit really limits my breathing unless I wear it loose (defeats the purpose of the belt).

edit: is this IPF approved?

When I lift raw I will either wear my 10mm single prong belt or my spud deadlift belt. If I'm pulling in a suit, I have to wear my bench belt. I want to try wearing my 13mm lever belt but I don't think it will work, even if I pull raw.

I like my Bobs belts ( the best belts I've ever seen) 13mm thick, 4" powerbelt
I just wear it looser when I pull so I can get down to the bar ( all of my bench technique getting in the way...... aka my gut)

I either use an inzer 10mm or 13mm.. depends how fat I am.. I don't notice a difference. I get it tight as I can.

I use an inzer 4inch forever belt. How tight to you guys make it? Basically as tight as you can get it?

I use an Inzer forever belt with the 'bodybuilder' tapered front to pull and bench in. 10mm. I use a 13mm lever from American Belt Company that Titan sells to squat in ' my favorite belt'. But I need the tapered front to get to the bar well for deads.
