I want to learn to lift heavy weights the right way, with good form and technique. Injury prevention is key here.. I want to work on the bench, squat, deadlift, power clean, and shoulder press, and also rows..
I put the following into google:
personal trainer
powerlifting coach
weightlifting coach
bodybuilding coach
etc..
plus the name of my local city...
I found virtually nothing of any help...
What do you suggest I do?

Dick Zenzen of Zenzen Barbell is a great guy and extremely knowledgable. He has a long pedigree of World records and World Championships. If you're close enough, he'd be great to train under. Good luck!

Depending on how far you want to drive...... Ed Coan trains at the south side quads ( or at least he will again after he rehabs his new hip) not really sure on that one.
Eric Marosher has a really nice gym up on the north side by Gurnee. He's a great guy and has a good team up there.
Ernie Frantz has a solid team out in Aurora, we train Wed at 5, and Sat at 9am. Ernie is usually very cool with new lifters, and the guy is a legend in the sport.
Dick Zenzen has a good team out in DeKalb, Dick is a good coach and there are some strong guys out there too.
The Powercorps at Jakked Gym are a good group of guys, Jakked gym is a great facility too. I do all of my strongman stuff out there.
Eric Stone has a team in Bollingbrook that trains on Sundays I think. Check chicagopowerlifting.com if you have any questions about Stone's team.
I might have left one or two out, but these are the bigger, more established teams within an hour drive ( or so)...... I know for sure that Jakked and Frantz are really cool about new lifters coming out to train, and I'd assume that most of the others are cool as well. Just call ahead to find out when they train.
