Now that we are in a new year, it's time for some new goals!!!

My goals for 2011:

Squat:705...This will beat my all-time PR
Bench:460...This will also beat my all-time PR
Deadlift:700...This has been a goal of mine for years and I think this year it will happen.

2400+ total
I'm not exactly sure about what numbers I need to get it, but that's a total I think is very much in reach.

So let's see what your goals are what PR's you plan on breaking!!!!!

3)Load all 5 stones at my gym

2)Incline Press 220LBS (Log) Currently sat at 154LBS

Start rehabbing my new shoulder in about 3 weeks, and if I end up with a sound shoulder for the 1st time since I was in college; make a comeback around the end of 2011 or early 2012. If all goes well I'd like to comeback with a 1700+ raw total and 2150+ equipped toatal at about 56 YO. I'd also like to make a run at a 500+ raw meet bench and a 700+ equipped meet bench with a 700+ raw meet squat and 900+ equipped meet squat.

01-07-2011, 12:03 PM
1500lb raw total @198

01-07-2011, 12:40 PM
I've only thought of raw goals this year. I guess geared lifts will fall wherever. But:

Squat 600lbs
Bench 350lbs
Deadlift 600lbs

01-07-2011, 01:14 PM
I'd like to get my first elite totals raw and multiply, but we'll see where the year takes me lol

General Goals:
To be stronger, larger, and more athletic than 2010

Specific Goals:
I'd like to get a 500lb squat.

01-07-2011, 02:20 PM
Mines simple

Lose the fat (10% BF) and gain as much strength as possible.

01-07-2011, 02:24 PM
be a better father/husband

Total 1200 pounds at 220

compete in at least one 105 kg strongman

deadlift 525, bench 300+

01-07-2011, 02:28 PM
1300total in first half of year then cut down in weight then hopefully hit 1400 before end of year. Will it happen? Those are some pretty extreme gains but thats the plan.

May only do one meet this spring and a bench only meet in the early summer because of my kid brother getting married and work things going on this fall.

Meet goals (for the next meet in a few weeks): Squat: 905, bench 720, deadlift 600, total 2100+ in single ply @ SHW.

After that, I don't know. I'm thinking hard about using the away from meet time to start working into multipy gear. If I do that, the next stop is a PRO total...2450 @ SHW. We'll have to see what happens.

01-07-2011, 05:12 PM
I wanna find a powerlifting group and keep working on general strength.

Basically the basic numbers:

400 deadlift
500 squat
300 bench press
225 military press

lil' power
01-07-2011, 06:21 PM
1150 total in single ply at 148

01-07-2011, 06:57 PM
To go from mid 230's to 250 pounds and keep my bodyfat the same.
To bench 315 for reps
To Squat 405 for reps
To DL 500 for reps

01-07-2011, 06:59 PM
1150 total in single ply at 148

You are going to do more than that. ;-)

I forgot to mention, that I would like to drop down in bodyweight and maybe compete in the 220's.

Oh snap!!! While improving strength levels?

I'm gonna try, lol!!! I'm just to lazy right now to try and lose the weight.

Last year I missed a 633 pull that would have gotten me my first 2100.... I've decided to get serious after that and really get my training and nutrition together.

I've hit lifts in the gym that would get me over 2400 in a meet...... so realistically I'd really like to hit 2300 this year and get my first 1000 squat in a meet.

01-07-2011, 09:22 PM
1000/600/800 @ 220

Squat and bench are very realistic and if things go well I will have the squat in a few weeks. Deadlift is going to take some seious work, but things have been progressing nicely lately so I may as well have a big goal :D

01-08-2011, 06:12 AM
Mmm, I'll keep mine conservative to start with coming back from injury -

928 Squat
620 Bench
750 Deadlift

All at 220lbs on the same day :)

Or total above 2255 lbs at 220

01-08-2011, 09:18 AM
total elite at either 181 or 198 as a teenager in the USAPL
squat- 700

total over 1730

01-09-2011, 05:54 AM
I want to live another year in relatively good health. Oh, and bench 800+.

Rob Luyando
01-09-2011, 10:17 AM
I want to be a better Father/Husband. I want to get back to my old ways and be the consistant bencher that put me on a record breaking run. I want to lean out (with the help of Keifer from DangerouslyHardcore.com) As for Numbers they are never big enough.

01-09-2011, 12:35 PM

Hopefully in a Meet.

Log Clean and Press-270
Farmers Walk-300x50ft

01-09-2011, 02:54 PM
Add 100 lbs to my total.
Pull 490 @ 148 (current all-time age 60+ record is 485) and 505 @ 165.

01-09-2011, 05:53 PM
Finally break a 2,100+ Raw Total @ under 275lbs

01-09-2011, 06:28 PM
Squat - 405
Bench - 350
Deadlift - 500

Compete in a full meet this summer.

Keep bodyweight in the ~ 198

Possibly start training in Single Ply gear towards fall time.

***I have a lot of other goals related to my personal life, coaching baseball, teaching, etc...But I'd rather keep this powerlifting oriented.

01-15-2011, 06:37 PM
Do a 700kg+ at a meet this year, do as many comps as I can. Live a positive life.

01-15-2011, 07:45 PM
Shelby Starnes had this posted up on another site I frequent, and I really liked it, so I printed it out, put it on the wall in my garage.

1. Marry the right person. This one decision will determine 90% of your happiness or misery.
2. Work at something you enjoy and thatís worthy of your time and talent.
3. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
4. Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.
5. Be forgiving of yourself and others.
6. Be generous.
7. Have a grateful heart.
8. Persistence, persistence, persistence.
9. Discipline yourself to save money on even the most modest salary.
10. Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.
11. Commit yourself to constant improvement.
12. Commit yourself to quality.
13. Understand that happiness is not based on possessions, power or prestige, but on relationships with people you love and respect.
14. Be loyal.
15. Be honest.
16. Be a self-starter.
17. Be decisive even if it means youíll sometimes be wrong.
18. Stop blaming others. Take responsibility for every area of your life.
19. Be bold and courageous. When you look back on your life, youíll regret the things you didnít do more than the ones you did.
20. Take good care of those you love.
21. Donít do anything that wouldnít make your Mom proud.

On top of trying to be better at these things, I'd like to stay consistent in my training, something I've really struggled with. I want to see the results of full on 365 day thoughtful living, constantly processing diet, workouts, and not slipping to the point of a fallout.

01-15-2011, 08:09 PM
Bench 350 (current 290-300?)
Squat 525 (current 430)
DL 500 (current 450)
get down to 9% bodyfat (current 13-14%, about 10lbs to go?)
run 4.69 40 (current 4.9)
40" vert (impossible)

Looking at my goals. If I get down to 9% bodyfat I would be about 187lbs. If I get my strength goals that would be a total of 1375 elite in the 181 class is 1379. So a little dehydration, that'd be something to shoot for too. 2011 is gonna be a good year.

01-15-2011, 09:42 PM
Squat 500+
Dead 600+
Bench 385+

01-15-2011, 10:49 PM
get the lower half of my body to work right again. Get down to 200 lbs. Get as strong as I can at 200 lbs. Outfit my garage with a power rack so I can train at home. That pretty much sums up what I will be working on until I change my mind. But I think it will last most of this year.

01-16-2011, 12:20 AM
Life stuff

Finish my masters degree
Start my PhD

Finally get a win in the open 200s division
load a 340 stone
Axle clean and press 300
work on my log clean and press

Get my total near 1400@198 raw by the end of the year
Finally hit a 300+ bench and a 600 DL in competition

Strict OH press 250

01-16-2011, 01:47 AM
I'd say reaching a max bench of 300 would be nice. That was my goal in highschool when I was completely workout retarded. I think I'll be able to do it in 6 months or so...

01-16-2011, 07:50 AM
Squat 650
Bench 400
Dead 500
total over 1500 in the 220's

01-23-2011, 02:20 PM
^Mark I like that from Shelby!!

Some awesome goals from you guys, really cool to read!!

I honestly would like to remain injury free from here on in but my main goal for all time is to pull 800...............I want it!!

01-23-2011, 03:12 PM
To catch up with you guys. Some of you make me look like a weenie.
330 bench, 400 squat, 400 dead lift.

I can do it, I can do it, I can do it......

01-23-2011, 03:35 PM
Also another goal is to finally break 200 lbs of solid solidness.

01-23-2011, 05:37 PM
Bench 500 raw...

Hobo Beard

I'd really like to get an 830 bench this year which I really think is more than possible. I really struggled with my equipment last year.

I'd also like to take another step in closing in on a 600lb raw bench at a meet.

01-24-2011, 10:26 AM
675 raw bench and 675 deadlift

01-24-2011, 02:27 PM
1000-700-700..... or whatever it takes to get over 2400 this year.... probably more likely 1000-750-650......

01-25-2011, 01:24 AM
My goal in 2011 to gain weight and make my muscle more attractive.
i will have to gain weight for this purpose.
and more exercise.

01-25-2011, 05:05 AM
My general goals for the year 2011 are to be more stronger, larger and more athletic then 2010 and specific goals are:
Squat 700lbs
Bench 400lbs
Deadlift 600lbs..

01-25-2011, 05:38 AM
I just tested yesterday and came up with these numbers:

Weight: 196 lbs
Bench: 315
Military: 185
Squat: 420
Deadlift: 475
Big Three Total: 1210

So my goals would have to be:

Weight: 205
Bench: 325-330
Military Press: 225
Squat: 455
Deadlift: 500
Total: 1280 or more (I'd love 1300)

All raw.

01-25-2011, 07:34 AM
To stick to the process of training to the best of my ability. If I do that the numbers will follow.
