Starting a new log since we are abandoning HCT-12.

She doesn't pay enough attention of when to actually perform the clusters and since we workout at the same time, I have to baby sit her to make she does it right and our workouts just take too long because of it. So I am putting her on the same bodysplit, but with no clusters. She will do one all out set, kind of like DC but NO rest pauses and not to muscular failure but close.

1/07/11
Deadlifts
115x7
115x10

I told her like 3 times to do one balls out set and thats it, evidently she didn't get it LOL so I told her just to do another one.

Lunges
15 lb DBs x 15 each leg

Bicep Curls
15 lb DBs for 3x10

Was supposed to be one set, but she forgot again LOL. No big deal, she will get it after a while. Shes very small and obviously doesn't eat like some of us on here, so I think a low volume/high intensity program is what she needs to recover adequately.

Military Press

Pullups
BWx3

Assisted Pullup Machine
-35x10

DB Bench
20's x 13

Deadlifts
135x10

She really crushed deadlifts today. Pretty incredible actually. Her last 135 attempt resulted in only 5 reps. That was 6 weeks ago or there abouts

1/21/11

Squats
135x3
145x3
155x2

She looked really strong warming up, so I figured it was a good time to do some heavy ass sets. Amazingly, her form never broke down, even on the 2nd rep of 155. That is pretty beast weight for a girl, especially of one her size. Won't see many girls in commercial gyms squatting *below* parallel with perfect form with 155 pounds. What is more impressive is that shes only been squatting 1.5 years. Im starting to think shes a genetic mesomorph. Im definitely the Ecto :(.

SLDLS
65x10x2

Just lower back maintenance. Getting the blood pumping.

DB Bi Curls
15'sx10, each arm
15'sx12
20'sx5

Military Press
45 x 6

Pullup Machine
-40 lbs x 15

Bench Press
bar x 5
55 x 5
65 x 5

Cardio
Treadmill 40 mins

We were both sick the entire week, so not one of her best workouts. No big deal, she will bounce back.

Why don't you get your wife to sign up here...her screen name can be "mchicia1's wife" haha.

Lol she won't do it, I promise. Shes not into it like we are. She is just good at doing exactly what I tell her. If I didn't tell her what to do, she wouldn't be doing dls/squats thats for sure. Some people just need a trainer to guide them or they won't learn what to do. Shes definitely like that. As long as she does indeed do it, I don't care though.

Bicep Curls

I'm really confused about the idea behind your wife having a training log when she refuses to post on here. If she doesn't even care about her training enough to type up what she did, why should anyone else?

Its not that she refuses to post on here...she will just start on her own then stop after a while. If I am taking care of it, every workout will get logged and we can look back after a year and see progress.

I tell her what to do and she does it. She does care about her training but not to the point where she 100% does it on her own. Who cares? The log is just for me to remember what she did so we can keep progressing. Any 5'4" 115-120 lb girl who squats 155 ATG and can deadlift 135 for 10+ reps is someone who cares about their training. Trust me, 99.9% of girls out there don't have logs LOL. 99.9% of girls out there don't squat and deadlift heavy weight. So she obviously cares but I just handle the logbook and her progression. Just like a trainer would....except for free.

If she's passionate about her training, then good for her. And give her a little more credit instead of talking about her like she's some sort of mindless sheep that doesn't know how to count. We need more strong women in the gym.

I've been stuck training in commercial gyms long enough to know what the average woman does. And also the average man. 99% of people don't keep logs or squat/dead with proper form. It's like gym time is play time for the average adult.

I do give her credit. I am so happy that she goes in there and works hard. I could be married to a lazy slob instead. Nothing worse than a girl who lets her body go because she is lazy as ****.

Deads
145x6 (nice!)

Leg Press

Lower back gets stressed on this...so we are dropping this for lunges next time.

DB Curls
15's x 10 x 3
20's x 10 x 2
Improving a lot on these.

The high intensity, low volume, high frequency routine I layed out for her is working very nicely I must say. Shes learning how to push herself...I wouldnt be surprised to see a 2 plate deadlift before 2012.

Squats
135x6, all deep
150x3, all deep

She really did great on squats today. That is a PR for her at that weight. Could have had 4 or even 5 without the first 135 set. Impressive!
