Straight after my workout I drink my full sachet of a protein shake. But I feel bloated, then I hit the sauna/stream room and still feel bloated.
Does this happen with everyone else?
What should I do? Drink half after my workout and the rest of the other half about 30 mins after?

Try making your protein shake with slightly less water maybe, i used to have a similar problem and this seemed to do the trick.

How much money do u spend on protein shakes?
Narinder - Sasriakal mate (you're sikh right....?)
I spend about £30 a month - Prolab Whey Isolate is what I use. But I spend a lot more on other stuff ZMA/Glutamine and occasionally Creatine.
Yeah - mixing it with less water usually helps but it can make it taste nasty (er)...

Go to the pharmacy and buy a product that contains Hydrotalcite.

F40, I'm a hindu punjabi, but I'm living at home and my diet ain't that good cos me mum makes that traditional indian food in the evening which has a lot of crap in it.
Hey Narinder - I'm Hindu Punjabi too!!! We're a rare breed!
I'm sorry about the mistaken religion mate - (what was I thinking?... My uncle is called Narinder.)
Anyhows, I understand your problem UTTERLY mate - I had the same problem until I went to university.
I take it, that like me, being Punjabi (and not a guju) you eat meat......
There's no real solution to your problem other than making your own food (and how the hell do you tell your mam THAT??). Mind you Indian food isn't that bad for bodybuilding. (if you're not a veggie).
Mind you..... here's what I do:
No chappatis for me.
Rice and a meat dish reasonably low in fat won't do you any harm. (dry chicken bhuna, curry etc etc). Just ask your mam to cut down the ghee/oil/fat and the chilli (i.e make the food bland - a big ask I know!). If your mam can make you that 3 or 4 nights a week and you make your own meals for the rest of the week, you may be able to get away with it. On the other nights you know what to do (pasta + tuna blah blah blah..)
Even (chana, and rajma (?) (red kidney beans) are not as bad for bodybuilding as you'd think mate - have 'em with rice in the evening with half a serving of protein and you're sorted.
West Yorkshire - must be a Bradford resident - am I right?

yes I live in Bradford...to be honest I do make my own foods, I 've been doing that for a good 7 months. It's just in the evenings, that my mam makes those foods. Well, i'm leaving to Derby uni in september then I know my training and dieting will be 100% dedication.

hmmm...so it's prolly just that heavy feeling from the protein, and not necessarily the carbs. I don't think there's much you can do about it really other than reduce the water as someone said. of course then you might as well just eat it with a spoon.
How about trying one of tose isopure juicelike things instead?

Are you kidding man? My manager at work is Punjabi and he often brings us some Indian food. If you're bulking, that stuff is AWESOME!! Is there rice, potatoes, and beef/chicken in your mom's food? If so, it's perfect!

why would you cut down on the fat?
If your shake only contain 42 g protein and 19 g carbs then you barely need any water to mix that in (8 oz maybe). I hope you are having other carbs post-workout because 19 g is not nearly enough.
