View Full Version : Would holding the weight be as efficient than going up and down?

If muscles grow by using them, then wouldn't holding the weight tighten the muscle and use them to their maximum? So If I lift hold something very heavy above me for a long duration of time, wouldn't that make my entire body stiff?

I'm sure it will serve at least some purpose, but it's unlikely to replace actual lifting.

Why would you just hold them and not go up and down?

You will not get what you want out of holding weights ha ha.
Stuff like holding heavy ass rocks and walking will of course benifit you if thats what you mean.
Pretty funny really, why not just lift as everyother person does?
