I am thinking about buying this bar http://jesupgym.com/products.php?cid=12 OPB86M 7' Olympic Power Bar because the bars at my gym suck. My gym has regular bars that have ****ty knurling. After some research, I found this bar for $175 shipped. I don't want to spend a whole lot on a bar because I might keep it in my gym's closet. I would bring with me but I have a small 2 door car and that would be pain in the ass taking it with me.

Has anybody used this bar? If so, how does it compare to bars used at meets?

If you are looking for a good olympic bar I bought one at newyorkbarbells.com it is a thousand pound capacity one andbit comes in either powder coat black or chrome but I've had mine for 6 months and like it alot so far and it cost less than your bar you found but check it out

It's a little thicker than a regular texas power bar. They are good bars though. We have a couple of them.

i have used a jesup bar in the past and i like it. it will humble your deadlift tho. its like pulling a piece of concrete off the floor. has zero flex in it.

I have one, it is a good bar for benching and squatting-and it will make your DL a bit harder

Definitely a super thick bar. I have a buddy who trains with one of these and its really helped him pull big at meets because the added diameter really trains your grip.

I have this bar. It is rough. I hate it for deadlifting and find it much harder than a normal bar. It is pretty good for squats and benching though.

On an aside, I noticed from the link that they call the hexagon bar a shrug bar. I always thought using it for shrugs was just a hilarious joke.

I've had this bar for about 2 years and love it for squatting.
