Today was my first meet, it was a push pull in wilmington NC. i didnt cut weight or anything just went as was like i would any other day. came in weighing 253. i ended up bombing on my bench. had my first lift but lifted my head so it was 1 white 2 reds. 2 and 3 attempt i just missed the lift. deadlift i nailed. had 415, 430, 450 all for 3 whites. and since it was a beginner meet they let me go for a 4th and i hit 470 pretty easy. which was a 55lbs PR. was very happy with my performance even though i bombed out on my bench. probably could have gotten 485 or 490. im uploading the videos and will post them when its done.

thanks. was very happy. felt like i could have had another 10-15 lbs tho.

Congrats on your PR!!! Sorry to hear you missed your bench. Was your opener to heavy for you to miss it on your 2nd and 3rd?

no i nailed my first attempt but i lifted my head to get 2 reds. so i just thought i would go up for my 2nd attempt but missed it, and then missed it again on my 3rd. oh well im just really happy with my deadlift. my next meet is march 26th and its a full meet. hoping for a 1200 total.

What fed was this?

They let you pull in shorts but red lighted you for a head raise. That sucks.

Thats why theres always another meet. Good work on the deadlift though. Alot of guys would have just packed there **** and left. Way to stay focused and get a PR

it followed 100% raw rules so head had to be back and feet had to be flat on the floor. there were only 8 or 9 guys competing and it was all of ours first meet. so since it was all of ours first the guy didn't want us to go out and buy a singlet in case we didn't like it, which i thought was pretty cool. but yeah i wasn't going there to break records or win, i was just going to meet people and get the experience. would have been pretty ****ty of me to leave after bombing on the bench, wasn't a big deal to me at all. next meet for me is march 26th and will be my first full meet, really looking forward to it. that one is put on by 100% raw so i will be getting a singlet and following their rules again.

Nice pull. Congratulations.
Don't sweat bombing on bench. There 's usually a big learning curve on the first few meets. Getting some experience on the platform will help you for next time around.

Pretty sure I missed a PR in the squat in my first meet because I blew the squat command...I wonder who redlighted me on that one???? :)
