Each year, Penn State University students take part in the world's largest student run philanthropy, the Penn State Dance Marathon, to help fight pediatric cancer and support the families who are afflicted by it. Through canning trips and tons of fundraising events, PSU students have raised more than $69 million to go toward the Four Diamonds Fund and Hershey Children's Hospital, with over $7.8 million raised alone last year. All proceeds go towards the Four Diamonds Fund, which aids families with children afflicted with pediatric cancer and towards clinical research towards finding a cure.

Every year, THON culminates with a 46 hour no sitting dance marathon, which is this weekend. PSU Powerlifting is very proud of their three dancers and also participate in "piggy-backing" where the team will help carry some of the more tired dancers during the hardest hours. THON is also a great event because sponsored families get to bring their children to have fun in all the events throughout the weekend. I think in today's world where we constantly get slammed with negative news and even in our PLing world where we fight over squat depth, it's nice and refreshing to see things like this.
