Thanks to everyone from the SPF, Bad Attitude Gym, and Metroflex Plano for running a fun meet this past Saturday. It was great to see the entire DFW powerlifting community come out and have a good time. Lots of people pitched in and your help is much appreciated.

I weighed in at 257 the morning of the meet. Again, I competed bench only, but I feel like I've made some progress that may let me get back in a full meet someday. Here is how it went:

Attempt 1: 505 Good (4lb single-ply PR)
http://www.youtube.com/user/BadAttitudeGym#p/u/19/fMApmZ9B1Gs

Attempt 2: 525 Good (single-ply PR)
http://www.youtube.com/user/BadAttitudeGym#p/u/15/rkg4PVCy9cM

Attempt 3: 550 Good (single-ply PR)
http://www.youtube.com/user/BadAttitudeGym#p/u/11/4ypIbXNBWf8

I was really pleased with how things went. Atom did a great job handing off for me and also helping me pick attempts.

I figured some things out this training cycle and I was able to make a nice improvement. On to the next one...

Looking strong.. looks like you are a bit of lockout work away from breaking 600! you handled those weights very well.

Wow man awesome benching! I see 600 in your future.

lol @ trying to bold and underline the title though haha.

Do you prefer single ply over multi ply?

Thanks man! I started benching against chains in the shirt and that has helped a lot.

Thanks! I would love to get up to 600 single-ply. I don't really prefer one over the other. To be honest, I like benching the least out of the 3 lifts, but I can't compete in full meets right now so this keeps me on the platform. Changing b/t raw/single/multi keeps the bench only stuff interesting for me.

As far as the bold/underline goes, I copied that writeup from my training log and didn't realize I put it in the title here. :)

great job Adam, looks like you're closing in on your multiply PR!

Thanks! I feel like I have more in me raw/single/multi so we will see what happens.

Ha, thanks Mike! I like benching, I'd just rather be doing a full meet is all.

Yeah, I started in bench only, and now I feel that way too. I love benching, but a full meet is so much more fun.

Great benching, brother! :strong:

Any reason you didn't cut down to 242?

Thanks!

I don't really have any interest in trying to cut 15+ pounds for a local bench only meet. I'm not setting any records or anything so it isn't worth the trouble. Also, my last meet was a total cluster %$#@ so I didn't want any distractions like making weight.

Makes perfect sense, bro. :strong:
