I am 19 years old and just reached a 315 lb. bench press. I am all natural and am considering trying bodybuilding. Is this bench a respectable amount?

I just reached 315 lbs. on bench and my next goal is 350. I am 225 lbs. and I would appreciate any training tips and advice that you could offer.

I can only compare your numbers to my own when I was that age. I'm pretty short and was weighing about 185-195 when I was your age and lifting in that area. I know it's hard, but don't be too concerned with comparing yourself to others at this point. You have a strong base with your bench and it can only go up.

Congrats on hitting 3 wheels. That's a nice milestone. If you want to get bigger and stronger you have found the right place. Just start searching and reading.

another thing to keep in mind is your goal. if you want to be a bodybuilder, you don't get judged on how much weight you lift, but on how you look on stage. before i get attacked, i'm not saying bodybuilders are weak by any means! i'm just saying that if you bench 315, but you have a chest and set of tris that LOOK like they could bench 500, you've succeeded, or if you have a chest and set of tris that LOOK like they could barely budge a plate, you've got some work to do.

but to answer your question, 315 is a very respectable number for your (our) age. you're definitely in the top 10-15% of gym-going 19 year olds with that press.
