lets say i eat 1300 calories a day and 55 percent of that is carbs but i make sure not to eat carbs after 5 pm will i still lose weight

Woah, 1300 calories...I'd up that. But generally, being in a caloric deficit will get you losing weight. I don't know how much muscle you'll have when you get off that diet though.

Seriously think you'd be wayyy undernourished with just 1300 calories. Also depends on how much you weigh.

I can tell you're trying to lose weight quick though. Take it slow, be gradual...be healthy.

You can lose bodyfat a lot more productively than that. Seriously that is way to low, bring it up to 2000 at least and just add some cardio, lift heavy and stay active. Make sure you are eating clean and go from there.

if i were you i would bulk. Putting on muscle will raise your metabolism, therefore burning off the fat.

however if you are deadset on dropping fat (not weight) quickly, i would be eating about 1800-2000, low carb, NOT 55% (more like 30%) and make sure those carbs come from fresh fruits and veggies, and limit your grain intake. oats and brown rice over wheat.

yea im lifting and doing cardio and ive been eating whole wheat bread instead of regular bread and ill have a bowl of wheaties in the morning with skim milk and ill have some veggies and fruits and ill have a 6 ounce chicken breast and some tuna

get rid of the wheat...lower the carbs, up your cals, use brown rice and oats, if you must, but use fresh veggies and fruit throughout the day as your carb sources.

wheat mimics an insulin response.

so you wanna go with something like oats or brown rice. if ya wanna cut quick that is.

I don't think 12 * 140 = maintenance does it? Thought that long drawn out BMR equation equals maintenance...12 * 140 just shows you a good place to start a cutting diet.

Yes, from what I have read pretty much everywhere 12*BW = cutting diet and 15*bw=maintenance. I would go with 2000 cals a day.

cause i only eat about 2 slices of whole wheat bread with some ham and ill have a bowl of milk and wheaties in the morining these are all the carbs i eat in a day except the fresh veggies and fruits so what kinda cereal can i eat i cant eat wheaties and i cant eat special k what am i suppose to eat

that sounds good. If you want to cut fast, keep breads to a minum and use whole graisn such as oats and brown rice.

special k, is a whear cereal. when i say whole grains, i mean literally the grain. such as an oat, or a grain of rice.
